The Lowel Pro Light is a low cost alternative to field portable lighting for Spot News. It is well built and will handle moderate abuse and with the low cost, if any major damage or if misplaced or lost, it can be replaced without any major expense.

I use this light with the Chimera softbox (which I submitted a review of in tandem with this light as well). My SLR interacts with this light beautifully and my interviews are artful and very dramatic (in a good way).

I use this light to photograph objects which are studies of form. This light provides a great deal of flexibility in terms of intensity and focus. I also have the snoot and the barn doors which attach securely and function smoothly.

If you use this for digital video photography get the diffused glass it really cuts the hardness of the light and gives a soft glow.
