Purchased the Indra 360 as a location light because of the lighter battery and to use as a fill light for studio work. My first session with the Indra 360 along with the Phottix beauty dish proved to be a winning combination. I hope the battery pack will remain reliable long term.

I will say that it does produce the light as needed, but both of the batteries that came with both of the Indra lights I purchased are now performing at around 20-40%... only lasting between 5-15 minutes of shooting after being brought to full charge. And of course, I am four months beyond the 12 month warranty. To have to shell out an additional ($) for batteries just to keep my Indra' from becoming completely useless paper weights, 16 months after purchasing new is ridiculous. I have rechargeable batteries in toys I've purchased from KMart for $19.99 that have seen way much more use, and lasted years longer. I sound frustrated? I am. Very good lights, very poor batteries. If there was a way to power the lights other than these specific batteries, I'd give it at least 4, or 4 1/2 stars, but as a solution, as-is?... two stars.

I purchased the Indra360 for a couple reasons: 1- I wanted to be able to shoot Through the Lens (TTL) metering and High Speed Sync (HSS) lighting. They work Perfect. 2- I own Einsteins and Vagabond II's but wanted something faster for kids running and playing on the beach. This was the answer. The battery is the size of a external AA Power pack (est. 4x9x1"). I will mount on painters pole via a Kasey Pole adapter and have an assistant handle the strobe. 3- Third, the Flash was on Sale for 25% Off during the WPPI conference in NYC. You will rarely find such a Sale on Phottix gear. 4- I already own the Odin trigger and a Phottix Mitros Plus flash which are both compatible for controlling and triggering the strobe. Wish I had purchased a second strobe while on sale.
