The reflector fits over the lens. This will block the built-in flash which will be useless for macro work anyway. In macro work light of your will be reflected back toward the subject from whatever light sources you use. When you need this you will be glad to have it.

I wanted to get shadowless closeups and this is exactly what I needed! Lots of velcro strap options to hold it in place.

I am using this reflector for macrophotography of flowers, mushrooms, etc. where lighting is low, as in woods or evening light. It provides a little even light, and sometimes that is all that is needed.

Have used for over a year now. One of my best purchases. Finding new ways to use constantly.

Works well with a built-in flash (what it's made for). Since the flash is deflected & diffused, it reduces the efficiency of the flash. Don't expect it to increase your flash power. It just distributes your flash more evenly and eliminates hot spots, but leaves contours and textures.

This item is ok, will do what it says. The velcro straps could be a little better designed, but it works. [...]

There are two velcro stretch straps that are supposed to hold the device in place. Have tried a variety of combinations without success. If placed around the lens, the reflector eventually pops off the lens barrel when you focus in/out. If you place the straps over the back of the camera, the LCD screen and most of the controls are blocked - and the reflector is back on the camera body. Directions on application would have been helpful, if not necessary.

I use the MACRO-FLEX as part of my Macro shooting setup. it is very easy to use, takes up no space in a all ready overloaded gearbag. it does all the things that it was designed for Butt-its Kinda hard to repack in its case

What a great Idea!

The Adorama Grip Translucent Reflector transforms harsh light into soft filtered fill light, creating a gentle wrap around effect, indoors or out. Use the small 12" handheld translucent reflector as a one-stop pass through diffuser for a well-placed light source in a set where large panels on stands are not practical for the assignment or as a neutral reflector to fill-in where a light is toostrong, too large, too clumsy and too much bother.
The built in comfortable handle is positioned at the apex of the rounded triangular design allowing for easy placement of the reflecting Adorama Grip Translucent Reflector with no stand or support needed. This is perfect for an assistant or when you are working alone.
The lightweight steel spring frame is rigid enough to maintain its shape and twists and folds to a scant 4" circle to fit into its own small zippered storage case, ready for springing open in a snap as a light modifier.
