WILLIAM P : Whats comes in the box? i wished Adorama would ad a Category to its products descriptions so that we know exactly whats included?WILLIAM P : Thanks for ur feedbackJAIME A : willy, all you get is the light stand in a box and nothing else. it is a very nice stand. i am happy with my purchase. jaime
EDDIE M : Is this a good choice for a Flash Point 16" softbox?LARRY L : YesLARRY L : YesPAUL T : without a doubt the 7.1 light stand will do the job well !SANG K : Depends on how high you want to go, but I think it should be able to handle small softbox to the maximum height. For outdoor use, I would attach couple of sand bags.CHRISTOPHER V : Yes I think this would be fine for that.CARL S : This stand would be a good choice for your softbox. Like any light stand, it would need at least a 10 pound sand bag to prevent tip over accidents. Suggest you also order a set of sand bags.KEN W : Yes!SUBHANKAR B : Even though i have not used a 16" soft box on it, i think it should not be an issue at all. I have the 8.5' flashpoint lightstands as well and those carry 30" metal bar soft box comfortably. My suggestion: go for the 8.5" pro light stands (I think those are $39)... And u are ready for any soft box in the future.RICHARD M : This is a great stand. Sturdy and dependable and it should handle all softboxes very well. I use it for umbrella's and softboxes of many different sizes.
Shopper : I'm looking for a pair of lightweight stands that I can use on location for setting up a background. I will only be taking close-up portraits (head&shoulders). Is this a good choice for a stand? ThanksROBERT C : These stands are good for lightweight items but keep in mind that they only raise up to 7 feet if everything is extended. If you are OK with this height then the stands should work fine.DOUG R : It's not a bad stand. I got it as a kit to hold a reflector. I find it needs to be sand bagged to keep it from falling over while holding the reflector but as a backdrop holder it may be fine. Build is nice, no real complaintsGILBERT F : I like the stand. Only problem, thus far, is it gets stuck REALLY BAD at a certain point. It was good at first, but just got worse with time. I finally had to squirt some PB Blast lubricant to get it to cooperate with me. Additionally, out of abundance of caution, I always use ankle weights to keep it from falling over.Keith E : Yes, they are really great. If you bring some sandbags they're even better, but I've used them everywhere and they've taken abuse and they're still just what I needDOUGLAS S : Yes, the stand is light weight an sets up quickly. Good choiceSTEVE H : This stand works great for close-up portraits. That is exactly what I use it for.EDUARDO P : For me is a team that is given much use. Outdoor work and study constantly. Not very high but since it is in equipment specifications. But we worked very well and to the air system is like new. I think for the price and its function is a very good buy. Buy 4 in an order and I will buy a few moreCLIFFORD W : No. This is a very light duty sort of item. The plastic nut the holds the height position stripped very quickly. The unit is perfect in studio where it remains at the same place and location most of the time. It is very lightweigth and easy to transport. If you replaced the plastic nut handel with a metal one it may work ok. Also, while being light is wonderful for ease of transport it works against you in a windy situation if you have a softbox or umbrella attached.EDGAR S : These stands should do for small backgrounds like you are talking about. I'm using mine for monolights, but I think they are sturdy enough for your need.

Wait, this an -E condition item right? Unacceptable.

Not gonna lie, it came in a huge , extremely well package box and it is a bigger box than my last 2 brand new light stands, a lot of wastes after unboxing btw. All the original things are in here from the carrying case, strap, all the papers...And more importantly the light stand look spanking new, I mean like come on guys? Are you you not mistaken this one as an Open box rated one or like Like new?? Because I may get a habit into buy -E items now, they extremely cheaper and still look exactly like a brand new product. Well done Adorama!

Not bad not great

This is a decent unit for lightweight lights. Mine was missing a fastener between the shaft and stem so my speed light would spin and was loose. After I placed a rivet in the hole it was better but the stem is still loose. This is a great accessory for mobile shooting when an assistant or student is not available.

dependable at low cost

i had used this product twice already. one from a house blessing and another for a big company party. im an ammature photographer and this is one of my hobby. i like to take portrait, family and group pictures. this lightstand is very useful for me. it holds my 36" umbrella real good, its lightweight and i like the color black. its also air cushioned so your fingers are safe from any injury. i just wish it can handle more weight and that you can add wheel accessory to it.

Cost Effective Lighstand

I have four units of this light stand. Light and cost effective for mounting Einstein 640 and large reflector that does not require high elevation. The air cushioned protects from accidental loosening of the nuts.

Good product for the price.

I use it as stand for my new Flashpoint 620 moonlight. I like the air cushioned feature, no more pinching my fingers my lowering the stand height. Made and looked sturdy.

Great Stand

Haven't tried this outdoors yet, so I'm holding it to 4 stars, but for indoor work it's just what I needed: Stable extended to full height, solidly built and put together. I doubt you'll find better value at anywhere near this price-point. Is it solid enough for Joe McNally? Maybe not -- but for a small studio this Flashpoint stand works nicely for an off-camera strobe or mono-light. I'll be hitting the boss up to get one or two at work, too. (I take a lot of photos in the course of my job even though that's not the central focus, and I made this purchase for my own purposes.)

Fits my needs

Beginner photographer and just starting to use external lighting. Purchased this along with a flashpoint monolight. Sturdy enough for my uses, compact enough to take up minimal space in my truck, and easy to use.

Good deal for the money

Did not expect to get the heaviest product out there. But they work very well and support 12" beauty dishes and a flash just fine, even at full hieght.

I am a photographer and use this stand for my speed lights. It is sturdy with great locking. The air feature is great because if the bolts where loosened it will not drop fast. Great stand for the money. No complaints here! Will buy more!

Great Value

Dollar-for-dollar, this is a great stand. Sturdier than any others I've seen in this price range. I primarily use it for a monolight/small softbox combination, and have had no problems whatsoever. Sure, stands that cost 3x as much are a bit sturdier and/or lighter, but this stand does the job just fine.

I use this in my home studio, and it performs flawlessly. I use it for speedlites with softboxes, umbrellas and to hold a 42" reflector. It does exactly what I expected it to do. Well constructed and easy to use.

An excellent value! Great portability. Good stands for the non-pro on a budget. There are better stands out there, but no better bang for the buck!

perfect match of portability vs strength

Strong enough for mono light with umbrella or beauty dish. Some softboxes might be too heavy. I use a stronger stand (Ravelli) at home but this is lighter to carry. It's overkill for speedlights. I use smaller and lighter stands for those. Great for reflector arms when used with a 10 lb sand bag.

Great Stand!

You might think you don't need stands that are air cushioned until the day you have expensive lights and the stand slams down. These are great stands at a great price.

Decent Product for a Fair Price

This is a good light stand for the price. The build quality is good and the air cushioned sections work well. Not sure it can reach to 7 feet though. In order to get that high you need to have the base legs extended up high which makes the stand less stable.
