Nice compact size umbrella for portraits or photobooth. Decent quality. I however do not like the bracket it comes with. The tightening screw for the flash is not easy to use.

The umbrella is good but the holder which I consider bonus considering the price could not hold the flash. I had to file it to make adjustment for it to work.

A fast and easy umbrella for close up portraits. I would not recommend for groups.

The umbrellas are small, but perfect for focused nature, portrait or still life photos. Easily fit in an equipment bag. The real value of the set is the swivel light holder. The mechanism is solid and has versatility both in the lighting apparatus that can be attached and the maneuverability of the holder. The clamps are well constructed and the screws are easy to adjust. A great set for less than $10.

The holder works fine. The umbrella is way too small. For the price I paid, I thinks it's a good value for a basic set.

Do not rely on this device to hold your flash securely. Along with this holder I purchased a canon speedlite 600ex-rt and used both at a wedding the following weekend. I had a hard time tightening the grip on the holder but thought it was secure. After some light use I picked up my stand to move it over a few feet and the flash just fell off and hit the floor breaking it. This holder is completely useless if it can not serve its primary purpose which is to HOLD the flash!

Wanted an umbrella that could travel... This umbrella is small enough to fit down the side of your backpack and with the stand mount easily sits on your tripod, great for on the go light control.

Since the umbrellas are small, the flash will not be centered. But you can get larger umbrellas later if you need them. The hot shoe clamps need to be reworked to move smoothly. Remove the thumb screw and clamp jaw and cut about 2mm from both springs. Add a #6 washer under the thumb screw and add some grease on the moving parts. Works great after that. Do not tighten any screws more than is required to hold things in position (just snug) or things won't last. The umbrellas are great and the system works really well for what it is and what it cost. I mount mine on boom mic stands and can get any angles I need.

Bought it on sale, because 2 of these cost the same as one bracket only. Now I have 2 20" umbrellas extra to play with.

It's a bit flimsy not sure how long it will last, and the umbrellas are tiny. You're better off just ordering the holder and getting umbrellas on your own.

I needed another umbrella for my LED lights and this was at a good price so I bought it. It turned out a little smaller than I thought it would be but it still works just fine. I could recommend it to someone else.

I bought this for location portraiture. I mount a small off camera flash horizontally in line with the umbrella for head and shoulder shots. It easy to move through narrow doors and around ceiling fans. My only complaint is that it didn't include a sheath/cover for the umbrella. Great product, fast shipping, Adorama is the best.

Great small umbrella for outside portraits. Its fast and simple, and its tiny so its perfect for transport. Make sure you ground your tripod legs, if its windy, it will blow right over.

The umbrella itself is fantastic - I use it mounted on my camera via an extendable ALZO flash mounting bracket for outdoor portraits, weddings etc and the light is fantastic. My setup can point two or more flash heads towards the umbrella to shoot through. The holder itself is useless but has been built into the total cost of this product. If adorama sold the umbrella by itself I would buy a dozen - not willing to pay for a dozen holders. Good lighting from the umbrella upto 10 feet - then it starts to get harsh as the relative size would become smaller.

Everything that surprised me about this product were things that should have been obvious. 20" is a very small size for an umbrella, for one. The other is that this is an incredibly good price for an umbrella and a mounting bracket and so it's not reasonable to expect the same kind of quality and durability that one might find in high end photo equipment. That being said, this product is exactly what it says it is and if what you need is a little umbrella on a stand, this is a very cost effective way to do that!

Most often for fill light on outdoor location shoots. But also quite frequently as the key light on outdoor portrait shoots.

I had a hard time finding an umbrella this small for my purpose. The primary usage is for interior lighting of rental units, hand held and extremly flexible. I use this with a Manfrotto 233B flash bracket which itself is very flexable and also can be attached to a tripod when needed. The bracket holder is a give away.

I photograph clothing for my web site and have a very small space to do it in. I simply wanted a smaller umbrella that didn't take up so much room. This is perfect for that.

I bought this pair because I was getting my first lighting setup and went cheap. I went wrong. After 2 months of moderate use the umbrella has broken and the swivel completely fell of my light stand. My swivel never was tight with my flash and I was always worried. Just a hint of wind will destroy both the Umbrella and Swivel. I recently ordered a $15 swivel and a $20 umbrella and it is much better.

I do commercial photography, PR portraits, group photos, staged scenes. This is a great little kit, stick it on a light stand or tripod (it has a standard mount adapter) and you has a nice little diffuser. All this for $15. This kit will be my fill to compliment a 33" silver reflector. It will also come out for tight spots, bathrooms, cubicals, and the like.

They were on sale for such a cheap price I couldn't resist. They are as good as I had hoped they would be. I use them on my highly modified photo stand to digital photo my film based photo's.

I got a set of 2 with small umbrellas. Mounted on the usual tripod in combination with a slave flash triggered from the main one it had created all supplemental light I needed for the professional looking portraits. It gets you a portable professional portrait light setup in minutes for no cost worth mentioning compared to what you pay for this kind of equipment usually.

Bought two of these on sale for [$] a pair. the holders are great and I replaced the small umbrellas with two 32" satin with black covers, which do a great job. Combination is light and portable.

I am using this for a portable setup. It holds what I've asked it to and works just fine. Is it something that you would use in the studio when you have other heavier duty gear, probably not, BUT it serves the purpose for what it is designed. I have found that because it is so long in the shoe, that it is best to tighten it and then push the unit into a wedge type fit.

Will not hold foot securely. Plastic threads stripped and my SB900 fell to the floor. This is not suitable for large strobes.

This product will not hold my sb600 Nikon flash. My flash fell off and pieces went flying! Now I wrap a velcro piece around the base to hold the flash in securely. (my sb600 can take a beating!) That said it works great with that addition. Umbrella gives nice diffusion and professional look to your flash photos.
