This is a great little light, the only thing is that, it did not come with the stand, and can't really use it until then. So now I have to by one. I thought one was suppose to come with it.

I just got 3 Rotolights RL48 B. And I have to say that I am very disappointed, I really thought that the light was going to be brighter than what it really is. It is still a convinient light to use for close ups but for sure is not worth the money. I will be returning them soon.

'Was initially hesitant to procure this light because it lacks a dimmer control, e.g., Litepanels. However, if there's time to assess the set and consult with the talent, installing the provided filters is easy and swift. That's what happened when I first used this light and it was easy to adjust. In dark situations, Rotolight provides more-than-ample illumination. For run-n-gun video, I'll install the diffuser filter and leave it at that. I might also use an ND filter in conjunction with a fast lens. In ENG there is absolutely no time or workplace to install filters, have to plan accordingly. As far as I know Rotolight is the only device of its kind. My mobile rig is completely out of space to mount any additional peripherals, not even a ring light with external battery holder. Rotolight's all-inclusiveness and mounting over the shotgun mic's foam efficiently utilizes the only available space without adding a bracket. One possible caveat is outdoors in the wind; foam might not quell wind noise and Rotolight will not mount over shag. In those scenarios the choices are obvious: good light, good sound, or light with no sound, just shoot b-roll.

the rotolight is so easy to use, just slip it onto my shot gun mic, and hit the on button. i do alot of ENG style events and corporate work and the rotolight makes it simple to light on the go. colour correction is great under different lighting, i tend to use the mixed light gel alot and the dif gel. love it

I film events, weddings, parties, ect. and the roto light is a easy and inexpensive way to light up a dark room, being it is LED the amount of light it throws is just soft enough for close ups without blinding the subject. it does have a little weight to it, but just make sure you slide it on, all the way back to the mic holder and not at the tip of the mic. and mine fits just right over the windscreen, I have only used this twice so far but the footage i got looks great, it also comes with several different defusers, light gells (you will find them inside of the rotolight when you install the batteries) which i have to try out to see how good they work! three AA's and used it for at least 3 hours and counting! so if you looking for price minded, easy to use, portable light, you should give this a try! Using this light on my DSLR set-up. Slips right onto the shotgun mic and super easy to use. Love that I have great portable lighting that is inexpensive. Looking forward to using this on some of our crazy outdoor shots where power isn't available. Used for interviews and short projects. Works great, lots of light, stays cool What I love about this rotolight is that you just slide it onto your on camera shotgun mic and click the on button and it gives off amazing light for any interview situation or anything else that needs extra fill lighting

The Rotolight RL48-B 'Stealth Edition' is a compact, ultra-lightweight LED ring light that simply slips over your shotgun mic (or hot shoe, using the Rotolight Stand) and delivers warm natural light for HD cinematography and photography when you need it, so you'll never miss that perfect shot.
Rotolight can be accurately dimmed (using Neutral Density filters) over a range of 1.5 aperture stops. The 48 Ultrabright LED's provide give that great 'ring-light' effect but without 'Red-Eye' or shadows. The RL48-B 'Stealth Edition' has a matte black rubberized outer coating which minimizes reflectivity and acoustic resonance and makes " the ring weather resistant. The package also includes a Filter-Holder and custom Lighting Gel Kit (made by Lee Filters)."
