The 8XD4-S Backbox features a unique planished knockout on top, designed to maintain the leak-free integrity of the enclosure in return air plenums. This feature, along with the four additional 0.5-0.75" side knockouts placed at 90-degree intervals, ensures optimal performance and easy installation. To further enhance the acoustic quality, the enclosure comes with a polyurethane foam disc. This disc effectively reduces acoustic or mechanical resonance, meeting UL flammability CAL-117 standards for resonance and vibration control. The enclosure also includes two flexible, perforated straps. These straps can be used with seismic-restraint cables or when the enclosure is to be suspended in an open architecture application, providing reliable and functional support for your speaker. Finally, the 8XD4-S Backbox comes with factory-installed 8-32 retaining clips, allowing for the mounting of a standard screw-mount grille.
