It's specifically designed to replace half a non-tegular (2x2) ceiling tile, thanks to its patented 1x2 assembly with an integral T-bar. This unique design feature, covered by U.S. patents 7120269, D467579, 7643647, ensures a quick and seamless installation process.The LT-830-BB boasts an 8" 20W coaxial driver with a 12 oz. magnet, delivering a frequency response of 57Hz-14kHz (+/-6dB) and 44Hz-20kHz (+/-7.6dB). With an average sensitivity of 97.0dB measured at 1W/1M and 80 degrees conical dispersion, this speaker guarantees high-quality audio playback.The speaker comes with a .147 cu.ft. steel backbox enclosure, featuring speaker leads that exit through a metal clamp for fast connection. Simply splice the connecting wires, push them inside the enclosure, and tighten the clamp. The speaker's fine-perforation grille ensures maximum free-air space for excellent sound transmission while maintaining an unobtrusive appearance in new or existing tile ceilings. The LT-830-BB also includes patented integral T-bar supports for adjacent cut (non-tegular) tiles and a restraint tab and hole for two-cable code compliance (cables not included).
