Where superior sound quality meets stylish design, the SM810A Sound Masking Speaker stands out. Manufactured by the reputable Lowell Manufacturing, this high-quality, durable speaker is designed to enhance conversational privacy and boost productivity in open office environments. The SM810A speaker comes fully assembled and ready for installation, featuring an 8" dual cone driver with a paper woofer cone and paper whizzer cone, backed by a powerful 10oz. magnet. The speaker is equipped with a factory-wired 70V transformer, offering primary taps at 4, 2, 1, .5, and .25 watts, ensuring its suitability for a wide range of applications. Encased in a robust steel enclosure, the speaker is acoustically lined with fiberglass, ensuring efficient sound delivery. The 760 cu.in. backbox, measuring 11.625"H x 11.625"W x 5.625"D, features externally accessible input leads and an SG handibox cover with dual combination knockouts for flex conduit and a 1/2" Romex connector for installations without conduit. The speaker's stylish black or white perforated steel grille adds a touch of elegance to any space. The speaker comes with wire hangers, S-hooks, and a 4 ft. chain for single point suspension from the building structure. The wire hangers are factory-mounted to aim up but can be reconfigured to aim down or sideways, offering flexibility in installation. In essence, the SM810A Sound Masking Speaker is a reliable, high-power audio solution, designed to deliver ambient noise and shape the signal to mask speech, typically positioned above finished lay-in tile ceilings in plenum space. However, its versatile design also allows for use in open architecture truss type ceilings.
