Shopper : Can this be used to make ammo for my pellet gun? If I dont have handles can I use kitchen tongs? Can I use molten silver instead of lead for a lighter more wolverine effective projectile?Thurmond M : Yes this WILL work for a Pre-Charged Pneumatic air rifle IF it has a .257 barrel such as is available for the AirForce Condor. It will not work for the standard .25 cal pellet gun because the diameter is too big.JIM J : If the bullet weight does not exceed a 25 caliber pellet weight it will probably work, I don't have experience with 25 caliber pellet rifles but my 22 pellet rifle I ordered a lee mold that included handles, kitchen tongs will not work but with a little work you can build a serviceable set of handles just remember the molds will be 300 degrees plus, silver can be used but unless your shooting werewolfs not much ballistic difference except the lead will open up more on impact thus causing greater damage plus being about 400% cheaper, just remember not to use pure lead as that is too soft and will foul your barrel, old wheel weights work best and is about the right alloy.JIM L : The mold is designed for handles other than kitchen tongs. Your pellet rifle must be 25 cal. and you must use a soft lead mixture for the projectile period.STEVEN B : The simple answer is no. The bullet that this mold would make is not suitable for an air rifle. Look to Gamo. They make several quality pellets for air rifles. Also, kicthen tongs would end is a very nasty molten lead burn. DO NOT try!JOE B : No. Most pellet guns are not 25 caliber. Kitchen tongs no not even. And lead melts between 400 and 800 degrees silver melts at over 1700 just below copper. You cant really melt silver at home without some serious equipment. Read up on bullet casting on google.ROGER C : This mold is for center fire cartridges and produces a bullet that is too heavy for pellet rifles. The normal range for .25 caliber air gun pellets is from 20 to 43 grains. While silver would be marginally lighter it is too hard to be pushed down the bore of a pellet rifle. Air gun pellets need to be soft lead.GREGORY M : Pellet guns are typically .177" in diameter so the projectiles from this mold will not work in it. Kitchen tongs will not likely work either but there are separate handles available, designed to fit this mold. I would actually advise using silver instead of lead, because you never really get to choose when a werewolf will stalk you. Better safe than sorry in my book. About Lyman 2-Cavity #257420 25 Caliber Bullet Mould, 65 Grain

The Lyman 2-Cavity #257420 25 Caliber Flat Nose Bullet Mould ( 0.258" Diameter, 65 Grain) is made from solid leaded-steel and machined to an exact and smooth super fine finish. The mould is then heat treated and feature hardened steel alignment pins to provide many years of bullet casting service. Sprue plates are made from solid steel, ground flat and held tightly in place with tempered steel spring washers and screws. In addition, break-in is often half the time required for iron moulds.

Warranty Information

This product has a limited warranty of 12 months for parts and 12 months for labor.
