Lumedyne HSML Extra Small Modeling Light Flash Head with 800Ws Flashtube and 7' Straight Cord

The Extra Small Modeling Head is the smallest and least expensive Flash Head with a modeling light. It has high quality circuits and the same modeling flashtubes and modeling bulb, just in a smaller molded enclosure. The HSML is electronically the same as the larger heads except for the lack of the household sync connector.

This is an awesome Head for on a camera bracket or boom arm since it is so small and lightweight. If you wanted to use it on a light stand, it has twin 1/4-20 mounts for the stand and an accessory of your choice. This Head includes a grid and diffusor set with the reflector, a Modeling Bulb (AMBR) and 800ws Modeling Flashtube (AFTE).

The HSML Extra Small Modeling Flash Head is the best value we offer for a powerful 800ws Flash Head with the bright battery powered modeling light feature. It uses the exact same circuit as the larger Heads but is rearranged to fit the smaller space. The only thing that the Head is lacking is the household sync connection because it was too large to fit into this very small new enclosure. So it only has a mini-phone sync jack.

It does have a test fire button if you want to manually flash it. It's on the side next to the mini-phone sync connection for your camera or slave unit. While all Lumedyne Power Packs have a ready indicator on them, the Modeling Heads have another ready light right on the back of the Head. Also, on the back of the Head, is the modeling light On/Off switch and indicator to remind you if it is on. It's a life saver when it is dark enough for your camera to have issues focusing or for you to want to see well enough to compose and take the picture. Sure it drains the battery, but needing it for a minute or so only uses about 3 flashes at 200ws.

Because many of our current customers use their Lumedyne Flash as an off camera flash system, the straight cable length is now seven feet long (7') to better facilitate keeping the Pack down low while the Head is up high on a light stand. A Hook & Loop Fastener tie is built-onto the cable to wrap it up for packing or in-use along with the light stand. If you desire a different custom length of Head Cable on your Head then you should contact Lumedyne directly.

The Extra Small Modeling Heads always include an 800ws AFTE Modeling Flashtube with the separate AMBR Modeling Bulb and an AR5K Black Reflector Kit including a Grid and Diffusor. Plus, the face of the Extra Small Heads have four additional threaded inserts that allow the use of additional professional accessories like the separate APBR Bowens ProPlate Adapter that fits all Bowens style reflectors and light modifiers. The Extra Small Heads are the first from Lumedyne without a household sync connection so be sure to get a mini-phone sync cable for your camera or slave unit. The sync cord is not included.
