The Mackie Big Knob Passive does exactly what it says. It has no external power source to worry about, just connect your input & output cables and you're good to go. Its compact and fits perfectly on my studio desk, plus looks cool as hell. I love the A/B monitoring & source select features, as well as the Mono and Dim buttons. This is exactly what I needed to run some JBL 306p monitors and some smaller Alesis desktop monitors. I only wish it had a headphone jack input, that would make it a 5 star product.

Awesome interface. Works flawlessly and great it doesn’t require power. I plug in my studio setup, and then also have a Bluetooth adapter plugged in to the ‘B’ input, so I can use my studio monitors to play music while I’m just hanging out.

I purchased a pair of KRK Rokit 5s and wanted to properly control volume from computer output. This is perfect and can switch between two sets of speakers, i.e. editing/client monitors. If purchasing for for similar setup, you will need to also buy 2 TRS cables for connecting to speakers. It does come with a single 3.5mm cable for connection to computer.
