I was looking for a pair of studio monitors and saw this on Adorama. Since it was Adorama, didn't think twice and just pulled the trigger on this one. They sound as expected. I love my mackie speakers. The sound it just a balance of clarity and punch. Cheers! :)

Plugged them in and they exceeded my expectations. The sound is clear and precise. I use these to clearly hear others in a virtual meeting. High recommend.

Kinda boomy. I can put a hand over the bass port, and it improves. I will try to see if I can stuff a sock in it to reduce the boomyness, and lower the resonance.

As a video editor, I ordered a pair of these to use as reference monitors at home. Upgrading from a prosumer set of Bose speakers, I'm able to hear a much wider range of sounds and these can pack quite a punch if desired. I would recommend the CR3's for people who don't want to splurge too much on reference monitors that are more than adequate for everyday, practical use.

Love it. Very helpful. Can't go too loud without disorting but it's clear and clean.

I use these for my console "battle station". I needed smaller speakers to not overwhelm the space, but the room is still large so I wanted decent sound. These fit the bill nicely. They provide surprisingly full sound for the different games I play through them.

Bought this hoping to upgrade my speakers while not breaking the bank. Very great buy, do not regret on bit. Can't go wrong with all you get with this pair of speakers for the price of it. Makes great as a gift for anybody who spends a decent amount of time on their computer either listening to music or gaming.

Great little computer speakers. Vocals sound awesome. Not a lot of low range though.

Use the speakers for a turntable. Good sound quality for the price tag. Only thing bothering my wife (not me) is the light around the volume knob...she said it is too bright and cause problems for her to sleep..really?

Purchased these on sale to replace an aging set of Altec Lansing computer speakers/sub woofer. Was a little worried about losing the sub, but these Mackie CR3s are amazing. Clear, true sound you would naturally expect from high-quality monitors with plenty of low end as well. Don't let the size fool you. These things rock and perform nearly as well as my five-inch JBLs. Good job Mackie. And thanks Adorama for the great value and prompt service.

Setup was very easy. I am using these with my PC. Needed to adjust sound levels a little as I was getting some annoying reverberation. These produce way more than enough sound for the home office environment. In fact I haven't turned them up past 30% or so.

Sound quality is decent but for the price I do not know if you can find something better when on sale. Well see how long they hold up.

I purchased these as computer speakers for my desk at work, back in January of 2016. I work in an office, where I can't get too loud, so it's not like I was working them hard. I even turned them off every night when leaving the office, so they had a really soft life. At low volumes, I found that they performed very well at providing great sound up close, while still being effectively inaudible to my coworkers. So for my needs, they worked perfect. Then, one day back in June, I noticed that the left hand speaker had no sound. I checked wiring, everything was hooked up, I swapped the R and L RCA inputs at the back of the speaker and the problem stayed with the speaker, so the cable was fine. Then I touched the speaker position selection switch on the back of the RH speaker and suddenly the sound came back. It was clear the selector switch had gone bad. With time, I found that the LH speaker would fall out more and more frequently. wiggling the switch, I could usually get it to come back for a while, but eventually that stopped working too. I was able to flip the switch, so that the channels were reversed and got them to work again for yet a little while longer, but now after 4 more months of trying to finesse it, it's next to impossible to get it playing both channels at the same time. The speakers only carry a 1 year warranty, so I wasn't getting any help from the manufacturer. I was hoping that the switch might be serviceable, but after taking the cover off the back of speaker to look, I found that they glue over all of the components on the board, to ensure that you can't fix anything on these speakers. So instead of being able to continue enjoying the speakers, I'm going to give someone, other than Mackie, my money to replace them. There really is no reason these speakers should have started braking down so quickly.

Excellent pricing for excellent speakers. Adorama was great to deal with, fast shipping and everything exactly as represented.

Nothing much to say about these. I'm sure they're not good enough for real high-level creative work, but for some light movie editing and listening to music, they're excellent and dead simple.

These speakers are awesome. Hooked them up to use as PC speakers but they sound way to good for this use. I tried them to replace a soundbar with great results. I also use them for bluetooth streaming.

These were recommended to me by someone who is very knowledgeable. He said these would be great for what I needed, which was for a 6 cd changer. Setting up was easy. The sound is good.... The green color is not the greatest, would not have been my choice, but they are working great.

I was honestly surprised at the clarity these little things have. While they are of course lacking in the low end compared to larger sized monitors (I also have a pair of 8" Mackies), it's not as devastating as you might expect. Just don't expect to mix dub step. They are however very budget-oriented in manufacture. All cheap plastic, through and through. Not even a hint of mid-scale appointments. Props to Mackie though for tossing in some cheap acoustic foam to set them on (and so that the plastic doesn't rattle).

These speakers are well balanced and clear. They output as much bass as you can expect for their size. Hooked up to a laptop at ~70% volume, I was able to turn these speakers up to about 3 o'clock before noticing distortion, which was plenty loud. The speakers have a nice solid feel to them. They also come with foam packing material that appears to be cut just right to be stuck under the speakers to reduce vibration. One additional nice feature of these speakers is the ability to switch the speaker with the amp and controls between Left and Right simply via a switch on the back. The only con about the speakers is the lack of an optional grill. Make sure they are somewhere out of the way so you don't damage the cones.

I'm using this mainly as a speaker, and not for music production. The output power is good for medium sized room. The sound quality is good.

Great full sound for very inexpensive price. I am impressed by how small and powerful these speakers are. I have yet to increase the volume past half and can hear them throughout my house. They have transformed my laptop listening experience. Great highs & mids. I was not investing in them for lows, but they do ok in that aspect for not having a subwoofer.
