I actually thoroughly enjoyed these... while they lasted. Sadly less than 3 years later they no longer turn on. Mackie support offered no help and verbatim said "it's probably not worth the cost to repair them". Thanks? Moving to JBL if only for the 5 year warranty.

Pros: These speakers are very clear. The mids are present and forward. The highs are crystal and vocals are well represented. Obviously this isn't going to be a high-end product, so take these praises with a grain of salt. Cons: Overall, the speakers feel bland and un-musical. Bass is nonexistent below 150hz. Vocals are compressed and feel robotic and tinny. Upper highs are either non existent or distorted and piercing. Mids, despite being present, are not clear and not well separated. Overall: Don't get me wrong. This is a fantastic set of speakers FOR THE PRICE. Don't expect audiophile quality, don't expect these to be your primary studio monitors. As multimedia speakers, these are excellent for the price. They are well built and feel solid. If you feel the bass is lacking, add a subwoofer to the setup for 100$ and it will be better than any other bluetooth speakers for the price.

The first bluetooth speakers that I have. Not regret it at all. I put it in the living room. Bluetooth connection is a big win for me. Besides, nice design.

Nothing special about these speakers. I bought these because they had built in bluetooth support but the bluetooth sounds awful. If you listen closely it sounds like an engine hum during any of the bluetooth audio. If I had known the bluetooth was was going to sound like this I wouldn't have made the purchase. I could have bought another pair of speakers. Other than the bluetooth problem the tweeters on the speakers have more noise than other previous speakers I have owned but its tolerable. Save your money and buy something thats more expensive which will sound better or buy something cheaper like the 4in micca speakers or a bookshelf pair with a amp. I do not recommend these mackies unless you buy them for a great price ( ~ ).

I was torn between the JBL LSR305 and this Mackie. I really like how this Mackie had bluetooth and the headphone plug.

Now, if you want a great pair of speakers for video editing, composing music, or music engineering but you are on a tight budget? These are the speakers to go with. Now, everything is leveled properly so you hear exactly what you composed or sounds you should hear properly during video editing, or while DJing. Now, I wished there was more bass to the speakers but we have to remember that they were not built for low end, that is why in purchasing these speakers - perhaps purchasing the 10 inch Mackie home studio sub will do the trick in giving you that bass that will shake your body up and down. Now, that being stated, these speakers work for me for what I am doing but if you are thinking of purchasing them, remember: what are you doing in your studio and how much money do you have in your budget is what you really need to think about. if you're doing what I'm doing - video editing, composing music, spinning some tunes on the 1's and 2's, and looking at your budget then these will work for you as they are loud. However, if money is not an issue then you're in the wrong place because you simply need to get the top of the line Mackie home studio speakers and sub. There is a huge difference from one end to the next. But if you are looking for speakers that can handle it all then these Mackie speakers are a great start. I will eventually get the sub but will wait for Adorama to knock on my door and say "we have a sale for you on what you asked for". :)

Got these speakers for mostly listening to music and not really anything professional. Sounds great to me and very happy. Look good, and the bluetooth works great.

Very nice monitors with good sound. But response is not flat as it suppose to be. Too much boom.
