We’ve only set it up and tested it so far but it seems to be fine, just as pictured. The top hood will probably need a little finessing to keep fully open. Other than that it’s a perfectly functional teleprompter for a decent price.

We just completed an intensive 4-day studio shoot of 21 lessons of an online instructional course.  The MagiCue 19" Teleprompter hardware worked great, and I highly recommend it, especially for the low price, comparative to other models.  However, the software was definitely lacking in many areas and the copy on the Talent Window kept drifting out of sync with the Operator Window, and this caused us huge time delays as we were constantly having to stop the shoot and try to re-sync the 2 screens of out-of-sync copy.  During our 4 day shoot, I estimate the software flaws cost us at least 5 hours of lost production time.  Again.  The Hardware is great, but the software is bad, and I highly recommend purchasing some superior Teleprompter software online to use with the hardware.  MagiCue tech team REALLY, REALLY needs to fix their software!
