With the Magicue Studio 19" Prompter and Pro Software Kit, you get a comprehensive, modular teleprompting solution that caters to a broad spectrum of camera sizes, from mini DV to ENG cameras. This teleprompter kit is equipped with a 19" LCD monitor that provides a variety of input options including HDMI, DVI, VGA, and Composite, as well as an HDMI output. The kit includes downloadable Magicue Pro software, compatible with both PC and Mac, making it an ideal choice for small studio setups and quick revisions. The teleprompter's modular design allows for riser-less positioning, enabling the camera to stay stationary while the pad and hood unit can be adjusted to an optimal viewing position. The Magicue Studio 19" Prompter features a 60/40 beamsplitter glass that clearly displays scrolling text from up to a 17 ft reading range. The teleprompter's assembly and disassembly are toolless, and the system folds flat, making it easy to transport and store. The Magicue Pro software comes with a host of features including a dual screen scrolling engine, mirror secondary display, quarter size operator display, sensitivity control, and options to import RTF and TXT files. It also offers a wide range of text customization options, such as black and white fonts, color fonts, full unicode support, and left/center/right text justification. Additional features include a find and replace function, wireless controller option, undo function, variable line spacing, preset font size/color/style, and foot pedal support. We’ve only set it up and tested it so far but it seems to be fine, just as pictured. The top hood will probably need a little finessing to keep fully open. Other than that it’s a perfectly functional teleprompter for a decent price.

We just completed an intensive 4-day studio shoot of 21 lessons of an online instructional course.  The MagiCue 19" Teleprompter hardware worked great, and I highly recommend it, especially for the low price, comparative to other models.  However, the software was definitely lacking in many areas and the copy on the Talent Window kept drifting out of sync with the Operator Window, and this caused us huge time delays as we were constantly having to stop the shoot and try to re-sync the 2 screens of out-of-sync copy.  During our 4 day shoot, I estimate the software flaws cost us at least 5 hours of lost production time.  Again.  The Hardware is great, but the software is bad, and I highly recommend purchasing some superior Teleprompter software online to use with the hardware.  MagiCue tech team REALLY, REALLY needs to fix their software!
