It took a bit of time to work out how to make use of all the pockets and attachments. Like any back pack it is never big enough but I hiked up to Gayley Lakes with it a climb of 600 height gain starting at 10,000 feet and the backpack and my back were fine. I would recommend choosing a light tripod which can be secured more easily than one which is heavier.

Positive elements: The backpack is well constructed. The design is very well thought out. It makes use of the space very well with a lot of added pockets for small things that are needed on the go. It is a reasonable weight for 30L size. The only negative comment I have is that the storage for camera equipment was a bit small for me. It would be nice to have another removable pouch for a photo pack rat like me. I have a lot of equipment I need to carry. Probably more than the average photographer.

Overall, I really like the pack for its comfort and size. There are some tradeoffs, as detailed below Pros: well balanced on my back/hips, comfortable with multiple adjustments including torso length, good sized multipurpose pack, i.e. carries camera equipment and trekking gear; plenty of attachment points on outside of pack Cons: barely fits 70-200 lens next to a camera with attached 24-70 lens and teleconverter below camera; will not fit camera with battery grip attached (Nikon D800 with grip MB-D12); other camera gear (flash, filters, etc.) need to go into one of the other uncushioned compartments; inadequate room for hydration system to accommodate longer hikes - I usually bring a 2L bag for those trips which I can just barely and very inelegantly squeeze into the side pocket
