With the Canon FD/FL Lens to L-Mount Speed Booster Ultra 0.71x Adapter in black, you can enhance your photography experience by improving the performance of your master lens. This adapter is designed to provide sharper corners, less distortion, and reduced vignetting, thanks to its advanced 5-element/4-group optical design. It incorporates ultra-high index tantalum-based optical glass to deliver extraordinary optical performance.Like its predecessor, the revolutionary Metabones Speed Booster launched in 2013, this Ultra version offers a magnification of 0.71x. This effectively reduces the crop factor of mirrorless cameras with DX-sized sensors and Super35 camcorders, such as Sony E-mount, Fuji X-mount cameras, and Sony FS7 MARKII, from 1.5x to 1.07x. The new ULTRA design utilizes exotic materials at the cutting edge of glassmaking technology. As a result, it is well corrected for use with virtually all full-frame SLR/Prime lenses, regardless of exit pupil distance. Metabones has a reputation for designing and manufacturing lens adapters that are recognized for their superior design and workmanship. Unlike other manufacturers who use an aluminum ring painted black on the camera-body-side, Metabones uses precision-machined brass with chromium plating on both the camera-body and the lens sides of the adapters. This ensures smooth mounting, an attractive appearance, and durability.The lens side of the adapter features a robust leaf-spring structure, which strengthens the adapter-lens connection and ensures a tight fit of the lens. This reduces wear and prevents focus errors and optical alignment issues. Metabones uses a matte-black treatment to minimize internal reflection and maintain the maximum optical quality possible with the lens. All Metabones Adapters adhere to this tradition of uncompromising precision, robust build quality, and outstanding finish. The new Smart AdapterTM series includes industry-leading electronic interfacing technology from Canada. This allows for true electronic control of the lens' aperture directly from the camera body. Both the camera-side and lens-side of the adapter are made of brass, precision-machined, and plated with chromium. The adapter is designed to reach infinity focus while maintaining the correct registration distance required to maintain the optical quality of CRC lenses or lenses with floating elements. It allows the camera to automatically choose the aperture in P or S exposure modes, or you can manually adjust it on the camera body in A or M modes. The adapter also supports EXIF data such as lens identification, focal length, and aperture. With its satin surface finish, it matches your OEM lens and camera mounts perfectly, ensuring a precise fit and solid connection. There is no play, gap, or wiggling when the lens is mounted on the adapter, and no adjustments are required to fit your lens.
