The close up filters work on my zoom lenses.

In dusty, wet, or unstable environments like boats I don't like to remove a lens to add an extension tube, and remove the lens again again to remove the tube. With their well-designed case these make it easy to slip one out of my pack, screw it on, shoot a macro, remove it, and move on. The low price made me wonder about the quality, but I find the quality of the images is fine. They can be a bit soft at the edges, especially with the higher magnification. Colors appear true, with no significant chromatic aberration or distortion, though perhaps slightly muted. Not a replacement for a macro lens, or even for extension tubes, these are a valuable tool at a great price.

I bought this for some close-up photograph. The picture quality comes out pretty good. The only complain is the construction of the set. It is hard to mount it on.

Clear optics, no spots or imperfections. No noticeable barrel or pincushion distortion. No noticeable reflections or ghosting. Sharpness not noticeably affected, no noticeable corner softness, but like all Dioptor filters, DOF will be VERY shallow, so it's best to use f/7 or higher & manual focus. Good quality glass and build, the glass is not loose and the threads are well machined & clean. Set comes with nifty little case. Adorama's set is a very good value for the money.

• Close-up lenses are high-quality optical magnifying lenses which shorten the close-focusing distance of the lens. It allows the lens to go closer to the subject than before and to achieve a larger image scale.
Close-up filters are available in three diopters (strengths). Close-up +1 Diopter (101), Close-up +2 Diopter (102), Close-up +4 Diopter (104)
