Unable to get them to work properly due to sloppy build quality. The control arms stick, causing improper exposure of pictures. The connection to the camera also seems sloppy, allowing for wiggling of the lens. Sent them back. (The Pro Optic ones I got look exactly like the pictures of the Vivitar set on this site, and the Vivitars got many bad reviews on the internet. I was trying to avoid them, but it looks like the 2 brands may in fact be the same product.)

Not worth the trouble. I am returning my second set of these Pro Optic/Flashpoint tubes. Both sets were poorly put together. The iris control arms have so much drag in them that the iris doesn't snap back properly. Because of this, all pictures I've taken at anything other than max aperature are over exposed. With the first set, the 22mm had this problem. With the second set, both the 22 and 13mm have the same problem. In addition, the connections on the tubes are sloppy, causing my camera lose communication with the lens. This causes the view finder to go completely white, and then slowly redisplay the image. This happens repeatedly while working with a single subject.

I used the extension tubes on a recent trip and was very impressed with the quality of the images. As with any macro photography the dpth of "in focus" is shallow, but if you compose with that in mind the photos can be stunning. Use these tubes to turn your existing lenses into close focusing macro lenses inexpensively!

So far I have used the tubes for macros and with my telephoto for getting close up for subjects like flowers and insects. The only problem is trying to figure out which combination of tubes to use with various lenses for different purposes. But that is a problem with my knowledge, not with the tubes. With my Sony A-33, there is no autofocus possible. But this is no hardship, as I would probably want to focus manually anyway.

In response to the reviewer who said that this product is not auto-focus, I beg to differ. I use them with three different models of Sony Alfa cameras and they do auto focus. However, the set of tubes that I received looks a bit different and is trademarked "Meike" and not "pro-Optic". Maybe you should check that out.

Contains three tubes of different length (31mm,21mm & 13mm) which can be combined in seven ways to obtain various magnification. Perfect coupling with TTL metering and AE mechanisms. Full auto focusing with Minolta Maxxum/Sony Cameras
