Using the left-to-right adjustment gets perfect stereoscopic shots. Also ideal for all macro photos (no need to move the subject).

I found the two adjustment knobs to be loose, having too much play to set precisely. The price was low. Perhaps it can be tightened up.

My first macro rail. Can’t beat it for the price. I find the movement smooth enough ( especially for the price). The thumb screw for connecting the camera is slightly frustrating and awkward, there is not much room to work with. The only thing I wish it had would be an indicator like a simple arrow on the ruler and maybe .5mm increment indicators as well. I made my own indicator with a zip tie and 3m tape. Overall happy.

Smooth operation and seems to be of fair quality. I would like to use the product for a little while before giving an absolute opinion on its quality and use. As of this moment its of sound quality and performance.

Cheap, but works great. Adjustments can be a bit coarse, but does the job, well made, stable, and a bit heavy... kind of a good thing actually.

This is a solid starter piece for the money. The adjustment wheels are a bit small so there is a human limit to how fine of an adjustment can be made. I found this workable and at the same time has given me the experience to build a list of features to look for on my next one when the money is available.

If your serious about macro, you need this. I love mine and you will love yours too.

Well made. Does not require extra accessorys to mount camera or to mount on tripod though I use quick releases for both. With my set up and a manfrotto tripod a little heavy to lug in the field but very good in my micro studio.

This is the Flashpoint I use. It’s easy to adjust to the way you like, it is stabile and not very heavy in weight. After using this, I really enjoy it. No worries, buy it, you’ll be very happy you did. Jim, Charlotte, NC

It does what I expected it to do and gave me the results I was after. It is a little tricky to lock in place when operating in the vertical position.

For the price, this is a solidly built device. While I'd suggest improvements, like a quick release attachment to camera, and the ability to sturdily hold a DSLR with more than just a 60 mm lens, that's not a fix that can be retrofited, or made for the same money, so we must accept this as it is. It's a relatively inexpensive way to get teh job done with a macro rail-type system for a photogrpaher who doesn't do this everyday, and who doesn't need more than a 60mm macro lens.

I have used the Flashpoint Focusing Rail for a few weeks and am very happy with it's performance. I did not want to spend great sums of money to see if I would like a focusing rail and this was the perfect answer. I am sure there are more sophisticated products out there but this fits my needs perfectly.

For good macro photos a focusing rail sure makes things easier. I got this one because I couldn't afford the more expensive models. I was a bit apprehensive about the quality since it was so much less than others that I looked at. However, there was no need to worry. This Flashpoint is really quite good! My camera fits securely without wobbling around. The movement of the rails are smooth and give me plenty of travel. I would definitely recommend this to others.

Great buy at twice the price. Well made with fluid motion on both axis. I'm a retired mech engr. and appreciate things that are well designed and built.

Build quality is good and the unit should hold up well for constant use. An indicator mark for the scale on the rails would make for more precise fine tuning when using for focus stacking.

I find the build quality of this product to be excellent. I'm typically using this product mounted on the head of a heavy duty tripod. Being able to finely adjust the camera position on both X and Y axis is necessary for the extreme macro photography I am attempting to image, typically 5X to 15X, at the sensor, or more. This product is very easy to use and I recommend it to anyone doing this type of close-up imaging.

I got this free with a Canon 180mm macro lens bundle. I would have eventually bought a focusing rack anyway. I think they sell it for about $45 separately. It is worth the price. It is surprisingly well made, and a valuable tool for getting your manual focus right. Someone else said the side to side racking is useless. I agree. You can do that with your tripod head. Maybe I'm missing something. There is also the issue of locking the settings with the tension knobs. Not a problem as long as you don't overtighten or throw your tripod over your shoulder with the camera and rack attached. Although I do this. Just be sure they are tight. Treat this with care and it's a good product. I use it with my Canon 100mm and 180mm. Turn on your live view, press magnification, and you can get exact focus without moving your tripod. Great tool.

I have only used it once so far, but it helps when I am trying to get close and keep the object in focus. I use it with a bellows where there is all most no depth of field.

Perfect for macro/micro photography. When shooting extreme close ups this allow very fine adjustment of camera position eliminating the need to move or adjust your tripod.

Handy tool for macro photography
By Blake
I do a lot of macro photography and use a DSLR. Before purchasing this focussing rail moving the camera when mounted on a tripod tended to be hit or miss. Miss the right position and you have to fiddle with the tripod position. With the focussing rail I only need to turn some dials to fine tune the camera position. Highly recommended for photographers using a DSLR that shoot macro work with a tripod. The price is right and you get more than you pay for. It is not stable enough for a medium ...

A Must Have forMacro
By ROBERT W.
I expected a flimsy piece of equipment, but should have known better as all of the Adorama equipment I have purchased have been above par. This is a fine example of a macro focusing rail and does the job perfectly. I don't have a light camera and don't use the plastic lenses so it isn't just for light gear.
