This is a simple pair of astronomy binoculars that work. This is my third pair recently purchased since breaking a pair of 10x50s earlier this year. I purchased the other two (and returned them) from a different reseller. The first was not bright enough (15x63s with 4.2mm exit pupil), the second (same pair of 10x50s I broke) had clear focus in only 40-50% of the field from the center and was not even close in performance to the original pair I had. I saw these Meade 15x70 astronomy binoculars on that reseller's site, and thought I would give them a try. Shopped around and found that Adorama shipped them quick and even had the best price. Tried them out when they came and they are a definite keeper. I brought them to central Nevada on a trip I took, and they performed well for both astronomical and terrestrial viewing. 4.7mm exit pupil was plenty bright for my 48 years old eyes. I like that the IPD adjustment and focus knobs (central focus and right dioptric focuser) are stiff. Focus is maintained after storing them away. I can take them out and am ready to observe. The build quality of the binoculars is excellent, especially for the price. The strap works, but is a little thin for me. I replaced the eyecup covers with those from my busted 10x50s because I found the original, single cap to be too bulky. The lens covers are good - snug and won't come off. The case is thin and is more of a bag. I will be looking for a more sturdy case. I have not compared these to Celestron's low-priced Skymaster 15x70s (a lot of amateur astronomers seem to have them), but I am extremely happy with these Meade astro binoculars. It looks like they may have been less expensive in the past, but at $, they are a bargain from what I see.

I have long wanted to purchased a very good pair of binoculars and now I have them. amazing views of the moon and closer objects.The item was on back order and adorama let me know what was going on with the order without my having to make inquiries. Very pleased at the service and with the purchase-I might consider purchasing the tripod for a more steady viewing. Again, thanks
