After I bought this item (Meade Canon EOS T-Mount), I received a short questionnaire from Adorama, and the primary question was “why did I choose this one?” After searching a few other sites that had pictures of a slightly different and less expensive model (made in China) than shown on Adorama’s site, and seeing that the picture on Adorama’s site shows a “made in Japan” part, I wrote back: “because your site has a picture of one that has ‘made in Japan’ on it”. Well, what I received is the “made in China” version that’s found on most, if not all the other sites. It is a genuine Meade product, just the Chinese version. It does fit properly, and the quality appears to be top-notch. In fact, I also have the Nikon version, made in Japan, that looks identical to the picture on this site, and I actually like the detents on this one better as it provides better grip to install/remove from camera. So, in short, I’m happy. It was less than ($), and we’re only talking a couple of dollars difference. It was shipped promptly and I received it two days earlier than expected. Although I took a star off as it was not exactly as pictured, I still recommend this.

I was able to be at the Great American Eclipse in South Carolina to witness totality. I also had my Explore Scientific 127mm triplet APO. With the T-Mount on my Canon 5D was able to get some incredible pictures.
