Meade DS-2080AT-TC 3.1"/80mm Achromatic Refractor Telescope Kit with Motorized Altazimuth Mount, 2 Eyepieces & Accessories

The Meade DS-2080AT-TC provides sharp optics in a package that can travel simply and set up quite quickly, with enough aperture to keep you entertained for awhile looking at the Moon, the bigger planets and some wide galaxies. It is equipped with Meade's AutoStar computerized hand controller, which puts an enormous selection of celestial objects at your fingertips.

The DS-2080AT-TC is easily aligned to the skies; simply get the scope roughly level and pointing north and then center any pair of bright stars in the view. After you've told the scope when the stars are centered it will calculate exactly where it is pointing. This won't take more than about 5 minutes after you've done it once.

The DS-2080 is an altazimuth mount "GO-TO" scope, meant primarily for observing, but can be used for imaging with a simple digiscoping adapter upon the eyepiece. For longer exposures free of star drifts, you'll need a Meade Deep Sky Imager.

Everything you'll need to begin observing is included, with the exception of the batteries. Eight "AA" batteries should yield a full evening of observing, but you can also adapt to AC or DC power with optional accessories. Meade gives you a pair of quality 4-element multicoated Series 4000 Pl÷ssl eyepieces in this package, instead of some no-name cheapies.
