This is my first ever telescope, and I couldn't be more pleased. I purchased it just to view the great American eclipse of 2017 and it was fantastic. I'm sure Its going to be just as awesome viewing the night sky. I wish I had thought to find a camera adapter before the event, but I did manage to get a few eclipse pictures with my cell phone through the telescope. By the way the people at Adorama are great.

A very frustratingly poor quality imprecise instrument. View finders are nearly worthless. Neither fit precisely so difficult or impossible to duplicate their placement. The solar finder is very imprecise. Loose connection in the red-dot viewfinder, so when turning the knobs to align the red-dot viewfinder the light disappears until tapping or pressing on the battery compartment. Get the scope in position and tighten the lock knots, but the scope still moves slightly upon release and has to be re-positoned again. Arrived not optically aligned and the collimation process is frustrating and so far imprecise. Am considering just throwing the scope in the trash at this point.
