I have bought this particular Telescope the Meade Infinity 50 Telescope and I am going to buy two Barlow lenses the 2X Barlow Lens and the 3X Barlow Lens. since this telescope comes with an Adapter I can use my .965 Eyepieces I can finally use the Adapter which accommodates .965 Eyepieces and I can use 1.25" Eyepieces. I can use the 2X Barlow Lens since it's .965, and I am going to get a Red Dot Finders Scope and a Zoom Lens to attach to the Optical Tube the OTA. I have bought various other Telescopes but when you come down to everything this Telescope is viewing the moon and Planets and Stars and Star constallations. Plus it really has a great Tripod it's simple to use and very easy to work with with this particular Telescope and it comes with the CD and 3 Eyepieces truly the best Telescope to use. I also bought the blue zippered telescope bag to hold everything and it comes with a great accessory bag to have all the accessories plus the accessory tray. . My only limitation is it's too cold and where I live there is a lot of Snow and Ice. I will use this particular Telescope when the weather gets better and when there is no Snow & Ice. All in all I am glad I bought this Telescope I hope to use it soon.

Bought it for my young granddaughter but her whole family is enjoying it. Great for astronomy on clear nights and wildlife during the day.

For a cheap entry level telescope I have found it well worth the money

Purchased this refractor to view the sun with a DayStar Quark Chromosphere solar filter. The eyepieces are bottom of the barrel quality, and recommend purchasing higher quality eyepieces. The diagonal is junk and recommend a purchasing a higher quality diagonal. The telescope tube needs to be about inch shorter to use DayStar Quark with a 90 degree diagonal. The focuser is flimsy, but it has a thumbscrew to keep the image aligned and stable in the eyepiece. Focusing the eyepiece can be a challenge. The alt/azm mount is very stiff and hard to maneuver when tracking celestial objects. The tripod is sturdy and appropriate for this telescope. I was able to easily build a adapter plate to use with my CGE PRO mount. I was able to take good pictures of the moon and sun using a CCD camera. I rate this telescope 3 out of 5. I would rate it higher if the focuser was higher quality. The Meade 80mm Infinity would be a good beginner telescope and will out perform any department store telescope.

I have now purchased four of these scopes, two for me (with modifications) and two to give as gifts. For the $ I paid for each one, I think they are a good deal. I have modified my two to let in more light for double star and DSO work, but found the original configuration for lunar viewing to be spot on. The tripod is sturdier than I expected and the mount works well. Eyepieces, red dot finder, etc. were quite functional. I especially like the correct image diagonal the comes with the scope. The view is tighter than similar diagonals bought separately, but those diagonals that I have cost more than this whole rig. With wide field eyepieces, I have been able to get around a 1.7 degree view of the sky, which is a bit more than I would have expected through that diagonal. Would definitely recommend this scope to someone starting out.

Meade Infinity 70mm (2.8") 700mm f/10 Altazimuth Refractor Telescope is perfect as a quick take-out for an observing session. Whether the observer chooses to use it for terrestrial or astronomical purposes, the refractor optical design will bring bright and detailed images. Observers also have easy access of tracking with the altazimuth mount as well as three different included eyepieces and AutoStar Suite Astronomy programs to familiarize with the night sky and print out star maps.
