High quality optical instrument
I have had this scope for over a year and i still can't believe how good it is.This is without a doubt the best color corrected achromat i have ever used,very low false color especially for 5inch f/8 optical system.images are tack sharp with outstanding contrast and detail and this scope can go deep if deep sky is your passion..l have three videos on YouTube if you want more information-E alexander.
The Meade LX70 5" Achromat Refractor is equipped with a high-quality air-spaced objective lens producing high resolution and incredible contrast for lunar, planetary and deep-sky observations. Its 120mm clear aperture allows it to resolve details down to 0.9 arc-seconds across and can be viewed using the two included 1.25" Plossl eyepieces (9mm and 26mm). With its 2" rack and pinion focuser and 2" 90 deg. diagonal, it is equipped to handle wide-field 2" eyepieces out of the box. The 6x30 optical viewfinder with cross-hair reticle makes locating faint object quickly and easily. Optical tube weight is 11lbs.
