This reliable amplifier is the latest in a long line of Super Integrated Amplifiers, following the success of the A1000, NuVista M3, Tri Vista 300, kW500, M6/500i, NuVista 800, and NuVista 600. The M8xi is a dual mono integrated amplifier, featuring a separate preamp with two monobloc power amps sharing a common chassis. Each component has its own heat sink and separate transformer, ensuring optimal performance. The preamp is strategically placed close to the input sockets, resulting in ultra-short PCB tracks and ultra-low impedance signals. This amplifier is equipped with twelve big bipolar transistors per channel, providing an impressive 200 amps peak to peak. The front panel is a custom-made fine line extrusion of milspec aluminum, and the custom-made heat sinks offer superior dissipation characteristics. The M8xi boasts new circuitry, developed over five years, that delivers higher power, lower distortion, and better sound quality. The output stage efficiency has been increased, yielding about 10% more power for similar power supply voltage. The whole driver stage operates in pure Class A, contributing to an improved sound stage, more impactful dynamics, and a more detailed and present vocal quality. This integrated amplifier also features a 5-input DAC, with its own power supply, for added convenience when connecting a variety of digital sources. It supports hi-res audio streams up-to 24-bit / 192kHz, and all data streams are up-sampled and re-clocked by an internal converter to reduce jitter and remove unwanted artifacts in the sound. The M8xi delivers 550 + 550wpc into 8 ohms, with a distortion lower than 0.005% in the audible frequency range of 20 Hz to 20 kHz. It is unconditionally stable and capable of driving any loudspeaker with ample power reserve. The M8xi also features a precision volume control, ensuring perfect tracking right down to very low levels. This is achieved by laser-trimmed substrate resistors. In terms of sound quality, the M8xi is effortless, fluid, and dynamic. It doesn't sound loud, it just sounds right. The dynamics are handled with no drama or fuss.
