Good camera, but a little too wide-angled for me

Great quality picture and apparently the mic works well too. My only reason for scoring it 4 is because it's quite a wide angled picture and shows a lot more of my room than my previous Microsoft webcam did. I'd prefer it to have a slightly narrower angle.

Not compatible with Windows 8.1

It might be a great camera. But the software that it needs to be fully useful is oddly not compatible with Windows 8.1. Even though my computer can find the camera, the software keeps saying “no camera connected.” So if you’re using Windows 8.1, get a different camera.

The Microsoft LifeCam Studio is a high definition web cam with a 1920 x 1080 resolution allowing for 720p HD video chat. The integrated CMOS sensor helps to reduce the blooming effect to avoid overloading of the light sensor which can cause bleeding of light between pixels. As a result, you can take advantage of higher picture quality with reduced bleeding of the light source.

The 75-degree field of view makes it easy to capture wide angle pictures and video, while the 360-degree rotation capability makes swiveling the camera simple. With a wideband microphone you have the ability to capture quality audio when chatting and recording video.
