The only reason I'm giving this unit 1 star is because I can't give it a zero star, it's a complete and total waste of money. I made 3 trips to the Microsoft Store on 5th Ave. to exchange one unit for another, same problem with all, a less than 4 hour battery life! Finally on the 4th exchange Microsoft upgraded me to the latest model, so far, so good. However, I must admit, Microsoft customer service did everything they could to make things right, 4 exchanges and finally an upgrade to the newest model, I don't know any other manufacture who would do that

I love the Surface. It is performing wonderfully and the display is fantastic. It our performs my old laptop. The only reason I rated it a 4 out of 5 is the price.

I recommend this 2 in 1. this is my first computer other than laptop. it is very fast and convenient but still have much to learn about features. I have had it for one month and works as expected but a little more expensive than I had hoped.

I bought this Surface Pro 4 without the type cover. That's coming when I can afford the Signature Type Cover, a ($) accessory. As for the SP 4, this is my second time around. I bought one in November of 2015 and returned it 10 days later. I returned it mainly because I wasn't happy with the actions of Windows 10 on the Surface Pro 4. I really had no problems with the hardware. Everything seemed to work as advertised. I did find, and still do find the screen display a little small for my taste. I've got the scaling cranked up to 200% and it seems just a little better. I can read most everything on the screen, but I have to sit pretty close. The pen works just fine if you can find something to use it with. I don't use OneNote that much and my handwriting isn't the best, so don't be so crazy about using OneNote and writing out your notes. I bought the dock and that works just great. I have a monitor hooked to it and other than having to buy a mini Display Port to HDMI adapter, it was ready and easy to set up. So far, with all the updates to Windows 10, this version seems to be much more stable and usable. I recommend staying away from the "metro apps", since they are half-baked and not worth trying to use. There's usually a full program available instead of the flaky ones you find in the MS Store. In fact, I don't think I've put on thing on this new SP4 that was from the MS Store. I would have no problem recommending this to other people if they need to do work some where besides their office. You'll definitely need a type cover. It's a real pain to try and use the tablet with just the pen and on-screen keyboard, I know from experience. Good luck. I hope the Surface Pro 5 comes out next year. By then, this one will be ready to be sold.

I purchased this tablet/computer for $100 less, and with a bundle or a keyboard, mouse and software. While the software came in cd form, I was able to install it with an external cd. I LOVE my Surface, prefer it to my LG tablet anyday!

I use Chrome a lot for my work, everything from Drive, Docs, to Sheets. Yes, Chrome takes up a lot of memory when running, but you'd think a Surface Pro 4 could handle at least 3 or 4 Chrome tabs open at the same time. Nope. This Surface cannot handle it at all. Even with all other programs off and minimal background processes going on, I've found the Surface 4 to crash, freeze, or run its fans at high speed whenever I use Chrome. Read the forums about this issue--other users have experienced the same thing. I experience glitches using Chrome almost every time on this device, and it's very frustrating. Surface was designed for people to use with Microsoft Edge browser. But in my opinion Edge is pretty terrible because it (still) doesn't offer extensions and a lot of the functionality of other browsers (like Firefox and Chrome). But you might like Edge, who knows. It's a matter of preference and what you use this Surface to do. Other than the Chrome issue, I've also experienced maddening episodes of bugginess from this device. The screen won't register my touches and I have to click several times on certain websites (like Hulu or Youtube) to select a keyboard field. At some point the device wouldn't show the on-screen keyboard at the sign-in screen so there was no way to type in my password to actually use the device. I had to restart several times and run some tests via Microsoft Customer Service (which, by the way, is terrible--I knew more about the device and how it worked than the agents they connected me with!). It got so bad that Microsoft had to replace my tablet entirely, but the replacement one still has some of these same issues (though not as often). I'm not ordering anymore replacements, though. I'm pretty sure this is bugginess is just the nature of this device. My recommendation is to try this device at a store using the apps that you think you will generally use BEFORE you buy this online or from wherever. Get a sense of how easy/hard it is for you to do things on this device using your fingers, the on-screen keyboard, keyboard attachment, and pen. PROS: Lightweight, beautiful screen, keyboard attachment and pen feel wonderful to use. Sound quality is awesome. CONS: Random glitches and bugs in the operating system hinder functionality. Cannot tolerate Chrome.

This was a fantastic deal with the keyboard and Bluetooth mouse included at the same price.I use these in my dental practice. This computer has unsurpassed portability, adequate power, and plays nice with my wireless network. Cosmetic dentistry requires quite a bit of professional level photography. I was very familiar with Adorama's reputation with photographic equipment sales and service. I found this Surface Pro 4 purchase to be just as efficiently handled as the photographic purchases. I highly recommend the Surface Pro 4 and Adorama to everyone.

I was looking for a laptop replacement for my 6 year old Lenovo Thinkpad. I also wanted to portability and form factor of a tablet, The Surface Pro 4 is a perfect solution. I highly recommend it. I use it mainly for office applications and corp email - it performs perfectly. I use a Logitech K810 bluetooth keyboard instead of the keyboard cover.

Surface Pro tablets are the future of computing. I can own a Windows computer again. Apple products are still on top and reign on the top as the best to beat.

I'm really enjoying this Surface Pro so far. I purchased it to replace an older laptop. I initially purchased an Ipad to replace laptop, but found it difficult to do work related tasks and kept reaching back for the old laptop. The surface pro keyboard and power cord easily attached magnetically and the mouse and pen easily connected via Bluetooth. All my old software programs easily installed via a usb cd drive and usb hardrive. The surface pro easily finds home network to obtain document files. The only negative I've experienced so far, if you are not extremely careful when using keyboard, the top heavy surface pro can very easily slam down onto the keyboard. This has happened several times so far, and panic set in when the surface pro would not come back on, had to search internet to find solution to do a restart/reset. I chose this particular model surface pro because it was in stock and Adorama offered "free expedited shipping" on this model (the other models only indicated "free shipping"). The item was sent standard UPS, which in my opinion is not "expedited" and should be explained better somewhere on Adorama's website. Adorama's pricing was competitive, but when you consider the free shipping, free mouse and some software, it was the best deal overall.

I am happy with this Surface Pro although it's kind of expensive. The shipment was fast and on time. The reason I am giving this product a 4 star rating because of slow boot issues with the keyboard attached. Besides, the keyboard seems to work randomly, and only a reboot resolves the issue.
