Explore the unparalleled precision and control offered by the Enhanced Mid Frequency Pultec Equalizer, an essential tool for audio engineers and producers. This MEQ-5 type equalizer is specifically designed to enhance midband-oriented instruments such as guitars, vocals, harmonicas, and violins.
The Mid Frequency Enhanced Pultec EQ shares the same features and specifications as the renowned 'EQP-1A' version, but shines in its unique passive EQ section. The DIP and PEAK controls operate on sharper bell-shaped curves centered on the selected frequencies, providing more precise control over the crucial midrange. This precision makes the unit indispensable for mastering engineers.
The Mid EQ seamlessly fills the frequency gaps between the low frequency and high frequency sections of the Enhanced Pultec EQP-1A type EQ. This combination offers a flexible palette of possibilities for tracking or mastering, making it a versatile addition to any audio setup.
This unit features a Manley input transformer with pure nickel laminations potted in a mu-metal case, a Phase Reverse switch for balanced XLR input, and an alternate transformerless 1/4" HI-Z (5K Ohm) input. It also includes a Bypass switch & Auto-Mute with warmup delay, silent conductive plastic peak & shelf controls, and sealed gold-contact Grayhill frequency select switches. Balanced Transformer Coupled XLR Outputs ensure high-quality sound transmission.
The Enhanced Mid Frequency Pultec Equalizer is built for the original destination country's mains voltage, which can be 100V, 120V, or 220-240VAC as indicated on the serial number badge. Please note that the power transformer must be replaced to change the mains operating voltage.
Manley Labs has been crafting these Enhanced Pultec and MIDEQ's since 1990, with continuous improvements over the years. The latest units use shorting Grayhill brand switches, a significant upgrade from the ElectroSwitch brand NONshorting switches used in the earliest models.
Please note that special mastering versions are no longer available to order. The Enhanced Mid Frequency Pultec Equalizer is a testament to Manley Labs' commitment to superior audio quality and precision.
