I use the MagBeam often when I'm on the red rocks of Sedona shooting a romantic landscape across a ravine and need that extra punch of light. I also use inside Reception rooms, so I can tuck it far in a corner and still get the light I need for the dance floor. Be sure and store it in a protective box, as I learned the hard way from a toss into the flash bag, the plastic "beam" broke.

Mayhem is an awesome modifier and incredible at intensifying light from lower sources. I use mine with my Godox AD 200, and it seems more like a 400. I love it and all MagMod products!

REALLY amplifies your smaller flash output (speedlight, AD200, etc). Perfect for fill light. Woud not recommend as primary light source - my results thus far have looked very contrived and lighting looks extremely un-natural. But again, for fill-lighting or reducing shadows, it is fantastic. And very easy to tote in your kit.

WOW! The MagBeam truly is a game-changer! I took this image of a Gambel Quail at dusk when I normally would have put my camera in the bag. This was taken at exactly 66 feet shooting up a hill in the shadow of a bush just before the sun went down. And I wasn't even at full power on my V1 Godox flash! Now I can get those "had-to-get shots" by using the MagBeam

I had a little bit of a struggle at first getting things dialed in, but holy moly is this thing cool for distance shooting!! Even though I struggle to get the lens part in and have to switch it from the wide angle to the other, I still give it a 5. Cheers and enjoy!

Does almost exactly what I expected it too, but the use of the MagMasks was a little trickier than I anticipated. I highly recommend checking out the videos. The good points have been well established in other reviews, everything here is of the quality and standard we've come to expect from MagMod, can't complain there. Works consistently. My only disappointment is that the MagMasks aren't quite as versatile as I expected, but honestly once you get into the swing of them they offer plenty of creative options so it really is very minor. I just would have liked more control over the 'sharpness' of the projections. Finally, it's a shame that they don't offer a kit focused more on just using the MagMasks, as while I'm sure I'll get use out of the Telephoto lens at some point, I don't really need it and could have done without it. I would love to have seen an equivalent to the MAGBEAM WILDLIFE KIT but instead focused on the MagMasks with the wide lens. Overall though, very happy and I look forward to expanding on this kit with more of the creative MagMasks in the future.
