I was looking for a portable off camera soft box for quite awhile. I finally broke down and bought the 24 in ch octagon MagMod. It was a game changer super quick to setup and so easy to use. I wonder why I waited so long

The only downside is the weight. Magnets and the zipper are not light, but very well built. Came with the bag, super easy to setup. Wish there was a whole run of sizes.

I've been shooting with magmod stuff for nearly a decade and I love it. Price has gone up a bit in past few years which is expected, but nearly $200 just for the soft box is a lot.

Stunning light! The first time I used this was to take a portrait of my Mom! She's beautiful anyway, but I absolutely love how soft the light is on her face. The shadows are so soft and it softened imperfections! Thanks!!

I used this as a fill light for the first time last week and it worked perfectly! I'm waiting on my grid to arrive so I can try it. I've been teaching myself lighting and the MagMod ecosystem has made things so much easier. Thanks MagMod.

I purchased two of these modifiers after watching Trevor photograph his daughter on YouTube. I'm a new photographer and obsessed with MagMod. This modifier can be used alone, to cross light or make a black background. I absolutely love it. I'm going to use these in a couple weeks with my first sports session and I can hardly wait. This MagBox 42" octa is by far my favorite. It's big but easy to maneuver and set up. Taking it down is just as simple and the light is beautiful. The first picture is my mom, the second is a friend of mine who recently published her first book and the third is my son. All three were taken with the 42" octa with the grid. I gelled my son's background with the amber gel and the mag sphere.

The 36 inch strip box is an awesome modifier. I have two of them and I use them in my work in conjunction with the new beauty dish! It makes a perfect creative light modifier as well as an awesome hair light or rim light. Adding gels to all of the Magmod modifiers are super simple and it helps streamline every part of my creative process. Great tools!

A grid is a must have accessory for all of my modifiers. Having a grid for my 36 inch strip box is a necessity. The magnets used to secure the grid onto the strip box are strong and have been placed perfectly so that they make a solid fit onto the strip box. It is also great to have a magnetic accessory versus a Velcro accessory. Quiet set up and quiet breakdown, especially if you're in a crowded and quiet room and you want to be discreet.

These are so easy to install. My dislike of Velcro goes to 11. These just go on and stay on. No futzing to make sure everything lines up properly and pulling fuzz out of the mesh. No loud scratching when you're trying to set up in a quiet church. It takes 15 seconds to install and like 0.2 seconds to remove. The handy tabs let me know which grid is which so there's no more detangling and trying to figure out which grid goes with which modifier or keeping things in ziplock bags. Worth every penny and absolutely essential.

I love the MagMod system and mentioned it on my last Instagram post about a cover I shot for WIRED Magazine. The magnetic Octo Grid was incredibly easy to attach to the Octo and did EXACTLY what it was meant to do?direct the light and limit its spill. We only wish MagMod made even more modifiers! Recently did a shoot before I bought this strip bank. Used another brand of strip bank along with a Magmod 42 Octa. There was so much extra time to set up the other brand that made me say "never again". The quality of light is also very nice.

I was hesitant to buy this - it's expensive even on sale and there are many many many less expensive options out there. But now that I've bit the bullet and made the purchase I am really happy. I have been using this 24 octa from Magmod since they opened their doors. I finally had to replace it this last month, due to one of the umbrella arms broken from being dropped. But it has lasted me for years!!! And it has dropped off a bridges (30 feet down with 2 AD200 lights attached) and nothing broke. Love my magmod equipment!!! The magnets makes my job so much easier for setups and teardowns.

My husband and I are wedding photographers and the Octa brings our photos to the next level. We have two of them now and use them a lot when we shoot photos indoors. They are GREAT for group photos, as they balance all the light at any time of day. They are also wonderful for night photos and really elaborate couple photos.

I am a portrait/headshot photographer, I am mobile. I shoot in a studio, at the customer's location and environmental locations. Looking for easy setup. And MagMod system is Great for this! I have two 24" softbox, 42" softbox (I use the most) and now a 36" strip box and use all with grids. I used a 42" reflections but now I have more control using the 36" strip box. I can this box many ways. Front, fill, side,hair and even a main light position. This box gives me many options.
