MagMod XL Professional Strobe Kit

I purchased this kit last month. My husband and son are building me a portrait studio in our garage so I wanted a smaller modifier with a big punch to use and not be in the way. This is fantastic. I tried it out for the first time last weekend and I love the outcome. My husband was up on scaffolding and my son on the bottom step of the ladder. The MagSphere XL lit them both nicely. I was amazed at the soft shadow transition. I'm excited to use the MagSphere XL outdoors this summer. Thanks MagMod!

This is my second purchase of this item. I had one for one of my lights, and I liked it so much I decided to add another one so I could have them for both of my lights. This kit is very versatile and easy to use. It also doesn't turn into a giant sail in the wind, so it makes it easy to use outdoors in all kinds of weather conditions. It's light and easy to carry, and the travel case has a nice strap that lets you strap it to the light stand keeping it from getting lost. The quality of light is nice and even and soft. Well worth the investment.

Fantastic lighting modifier for outdoors. Doesn't turn into giant sail in the wind and produces a great diffuse light.

I love this kit- it is so easy to carry on location, and it's everything you need for beautiful results both inside or outside. It is so fast and easy to change filters and diffusers! I no longer hate flash!

I purchased the stobe kit XL on launch day; I knew that I had to have it! The strobe kit is what you need if you want the quickest, most portable diffused, directed light shaping tool for your strobes. I oftentimes work alone w/o an assistant and I can quickly add this to my strobe and create in no time at all. No more awkward conversation w/ clients while spending 2-3 min. setting up a softbox. And the quality of the light when using the magsphere XL ??.

After years of using the MagSphere and grids for my weddings, it was truly a dream come true to have the ability with my larger lights, making my mobile studio more mobile!!! It's awesome having a light modifier like this for our larger strobes. This gives us the ability to having something that's easy to use, quick to set up, and doesn't take up a lot of space.all this while giving you a light source similar to a small soft box. I can see how this will be especially useful for on the go and location but add it to your in studio work too.

Well built. Works as described. Portability on point. Case is sturdy and made well. I have not yet used the gear, but I am, as stated, a MM homer so I know it will literally be lit!

I'm in love with this kit. The only reason why I did not give 5 stars is because in my opinion, it should also come with a Blue gel, that way it would be perfect. Besides this, MagMod does not sell the blue gel by itself

Decided to order the XL kit right away after it was announced. The XL kit makes my monolight an actual option events due to the quick set up (even quicker than a magbox - I have the 24 and 42), and more importantly less concern about the wind blowing over my light stand. I've been able to use the XL sphere at a couple of weddings. I look forward to the creative possibilities that the XL kit will create.

I've recently started using strobes more frequently so the XL system has really come in clutch in numerous cases. I love being able to overpower the sun with a single strobe and now I can modify it like I usually do. It's never been easier to modify my strobes without having to use the MagBox and I'm loving it!

One of the reasons that I had put my Godox AD400 away was because I wasn't able to use my Magmod modifiers with it. With the AD200s, it's been native so I've been using them for the last few years with great results. When I got the Bowens mount MagMod XL, it made me excited to be able to use this unit again with modifiers that I use on smaller flashes. The grid options are great too. I used the tighter grid and it made me perk up with how narrow the beam was and how concentrated the light was, while still having a ton of power out of it.
