Shopper : Why Did You Choose This?ROGER T : I'd heard that some of the hard adaptors prevented use of adjacent ports. This one works fine and allows complete access to the adjacent ports.

Compact reliable adapter

Using it to connect my firewire 400 video camera through another adapter (Firewire 800 to Thunderbolt) to my new iMac which has no firewire inputs. It works perfectly and a major advantage is the short length of the cable which doesn't clutter my work area with excess wiring, of which I have enough already.

Fast service

I had a graphics card go out my PowerBook and needed to get the files off of it, onto my desktop. I ordered this adapter to fit my desktop's FireWire connector. Service was very fast and it got to me in only a couple of days. Very happy with Adorama!

Reliable Adaptor

Reliable adaptor for connecting Firewire 400 devices to Firewire 800 equipment. Bought one two years ago to connect an external drive to a MacPro. Have had no issues with. Bought a second adaptor to connect a Firewire 400 compactflash reader to a MacBook Pro. No issues so far.

Works as intended

I recently purchase a newer mac mini. I notice the firewire port was deferent then the older ones, founded on the apple cinema display, and apple isight webcam. after some research and I found this adapter been the most affordable solution, Also its match the connectors for the apple isight webcam, and the apple cinema display perfectly. Adapter works as intended. I highly recommended this adapter to those who would like to keep they older apple isight webcam, and apple cinema displays in used with newer apple equipment.
