The Meural Canvas literally never moved from the wall it was placed upon and yet ceased to work. First however there were multiple vertical lines showing up periodically. Next it would simply shutoff on its own. Finally it wouldn't power on, rendering the expensive screen to the dustbin. I tried to work with Netgear for the customer support. They were nice, reasonably responsive and tried to troubleshoot the problem with me. I really loved my canvas and recommended it to a handful of friends in San Francisco who all bought one. It would have been really nice for the actual company Meural to step in and help somehow so that I might purchase another one and continue to rave about it within my social circles. I intended on buying one for my wife's business but unfortunately decided against it for fear of a repeat. Bottomline is if it works for years just as a TV typically does, it's worth the money.

I've had mine for?well it's well out of warranty. I would have given it 4 or 5 stars except it has developed a problem. On pictures with solid medium to dark tones up at the top, the display has developed a pixel problem, an irregular area of darker pixels much like, if it was an actual hard copy work of art, moisture had seeped down from the top border. Other than that, I appreciate that it is one of the larger frames on the market and the quality is good. I'm debating ordering a replacement.

Could never get the frame to connect properly (6-7hours of trying). The frame would show it was connected but whenever I went to download and play photos it would leave an error message stating that the frame was not connected.....EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING...No Christmas Joy from this item, I packed it up and sent it back

With so many gadgets out there competing for your attention, the Meural 2 really stands out as a well built, attractive product that just makes you smile every time you look at it. Setup was a breeze and the photo quality is amazing. It looks like a physical photo frame than a screen, especially during the day. I highly recommend it if you want to make the investment.

I love these frames (I have two of them). They display photographs very beautifully. My only complaints are first that support for anything beyond the basics is difficult to find, and after several weeks I still have unanswered questions related to storage, organizing photos,, etc. Second, if you buy a another frame you don't get more storage, even though you've paid the same price for the second frame. This seems ridiculous.

Product itself is pretty high quality, but be advised that the images do not show the unsightly cord, the plastic cheap look / feel of the frame, how heavy it is, or how large the brick is that you need to plug in. And that is the good part. If you have to use the app or contact support for any reason, buckle up. God forbid you buy this product for someone as a gift - it is impossible to deal with the subscription. Netgear so far is up there with cable companies in terms of difficulty to do business with in a positive way.

I purchased three weeks ago after a lot of research and really like the product. The app integration works well and the image quality is excellent. I also purchased the rotating wall mount which is a useful addition although I do feel for £824.99, the mount should have been included. I need to understand how the software works as the playlist does not always play the entire playlist and I have since found out that storage is only 4GB which is low storage for photos and I have found that the playlist begins repeating quite quickly due to the low number of images that can be stored.

I've struggled with a wall that I wanted to put something meaningful up on, so I was originally most excited about having access to "Works of Art" that I could test out. And Yes, I really liked it... then my son started uploading cell phone picks and they looked terrific including short videos. Now I've been adding my own pics / vids and... WOW I'm sooo happy.

App is really clunky, slow. Seems to ask for overly broad photos permissions when other apps don't need to do this. Having a really hard time getting the unit to use WiFi after originally setting it up for ethernet.

I bought a meural canvas in 2020 and have loved the display and the picture quality. The app/software, however, has given me repeated issues over the years. It feels clunky, doesn't work half the time, and sometimes results in a flicker on my screen when I update things. Sometimes the flicker doesn't go away for weeks and I'm unsure what is causing it or what resolves it. Trying to contact Netgear support is always a headache and never results in any fixes. I also bought the larger canvas for $449.95, so to see the new price of almost $800 with no updates to the product or software is a huge jump with seemingly no improvements. I'm a photographer and use this as a display in my studio. I would have bought a couple more, but with the higher price, I can't justify the cost for the same product with the current issues.

Very impressed with the frame and content! This made a great addition to our home and homeschool curriculum. The protective screen is more reflective than anticipated but with little hands (children) in our home, I'm sure it will provide the protection needed.

Initial Product review upon receipt of product- I can see already that there wasn't much thought given to how the product would be used if one wanted to power the Canvas from a plug installed behind the unit- the plug is oriented sideways from all standard electrical receptacles! I have high hopes for it once installed, but his really makes it very difficult to install in a professional manner.

I have had this for over a year now and have most of my favorite art works on it, some from Meural and some from other sources. I have mine mounted on an easel which makes it easy to rotate and to move. The image quality is great.

We bought our 21" white frame Canvas II October 2020 and have used it every day since then. We still love it. We also bought the swivel mount and the annual subscription. Both of us love to visit art museums and have valued the ability to see at home many of the paintings we have enjoyed in person. While the subscription offers many thousand paintings, we also take pictures in the museums of ones not available, for example, some Picassos, and upload and add them to the individual artist playlists. In addition, we add some photos we have taken on vacation and of special family moments and create playlists for those topics. I agree with others that the website is merely OK, but we have mastered its idiosyncrasies. We haven't quite figured out why some art is shown more frequently than others. We love the ability to turn the Canvas from landscape to portrait and see painting we hadn't seen in a while. Hanging the Meural requires precision and care so it is perfectly straight. It has given us many moments of pleasure and we consider it one of our best purchases. The price at the time we purchased it for two years ago was $349. Our son wanted to buy one recently, and we see the price is now $599. He decided it was too much. The price we paid was significant at the time, and I am not sure we would have paid the current price. But we are 100 percent happy we have ours and hope we get many more years of enjoyment.

As an office we have four murals on the walls. The actual product isn't bad. One of the frames shouldn't have left the factory, but other than that they look nice. My issue is with the website. It is horrible! The search feature might as well not be there for how poorly it works. You can't filter or sort the pictures in any meaningful way. When I make a Playlist it works for a while, then random other pictures that are also mural subscription are swapped out for the ones I picked. When the mural goes offline it is a misery to fix. Sometimes pictures I upload work fine, then all of the sudden show only black. Maybe at some point the website and software will get better, but for the price it is not worth it!

I purchased this for our business as a way to display current and past projects. Since our IT department requires a two part log in, user and password, I was told that there is no way for this product to connect our internet by their second level trouble shooting support team. This was after several calls, opening a support ticket which was never followed up with, and having to wait on hold for a half hour. Unfortunately, there is no other way for the required product phone App to work with the Meural Canvas II, nor is there a intuitive way to use it as just a playback device. The hand gesture control the directions ask us to use is a joke at best.

The Meural was nice while it lasted, but it did not last. With a standard one year warranty on a $600 item, and Netgear writing it off at that point, I'm not seeing the value.

A perfect addition to the living room. With multiple brightness levels we were able to choose the best for our taste. If I had to pick one thing that isn't perfect it would be the plug. If you want to recess it behind the picture it will be almost impossible. The plug is sideways to the prongs requiring a double gang hole and even at that the thickness of the plug will stick out to far. Like I said almost impossible... (Just had to get creative). We now love the clean look of the Meural.

I was somewhat sceptical like other reviewers having experienced cheap and nasty digital photo frames in the past. As soon as I had the Meural Canvas plugged in and displaying the sample renaissance artwork it blew me away with how it brought these paintings to life. I wasn't going to take up the artwork subscription but glad I have done so as it's been enjoyable to see them and not to be limited to hard copy prints. It's a great concept for enjoying art. Like all gadgets there's a familiarisation period to get used to it's particularly nuances and features. It's taken my photo album playlists and memories to a new level, on display to enjoy seeing at all times. I'm even experimenting with NFTs thanks to its integration here. My only niggles are being unable to source another here in NZ at the moment; limited uptake by unknown or local artists who don't know it exists as a media channel, and having trouble deciding where to wall mount it. I've temporarily solved the latter by using my painter's easel as you can see in the photo - this may become a permanent solution as I'm growing to like it.

It even displays gifs and short videos. The resolution for even low-res pics is surprising considering the size of the frame. I really like the ability to share albums to allow remote family members to upload their own images. I would have given 5 stars, however, the built-in gestures are difficult to use for menu navigation.

We don't use this quite for what its intended for. You can pay for a premium membership and display all kinds of art. And the art I tried looks fantastic. It has great color reproduction and great vibrancy. But we didn't feel like paying for the premium membership. So we mainly use it for family photos. Its a little clunky in that regard as its a bit of a challenge for what photos you want to use/send to it. But once you figure out the easiest way to setup a playlist with the photos you want and how to add to it, its awesome. We love being able to see the photos and change them as needed. And our kids love it. We plan on hiding the power cord at some point but haven't yet.

Initially, I was skeptical of the ability of the screen to display art in a variety of lighting scenarios- I thought it would just be a big digital photo display. In use though, the screen is amazing in it's ability to adapt from bright to dim in different light, and lights artwork very realistically- almost like in a museum. This screen makes photos display better too. This device is so versatile, I can't commit to a single location for it. I built an adjustable stand to mount it on tables, and replaced all the mounts on my existing artwork with cleats so I can swap them with the Meural for "art-on-demand". It took me a while to get used to the file storage system, and I was skeptical of the cost for the subscription service. But once I considered the cost of replacing existing art every so often, the Meural subscription got reasonable fast. The fi8loe management is actually easier than I thought. This is one of those devices you didnb't you you needed until you got one.

Disclaimer: I received this product free of charge as part of a Beta Program. I do not consider myself an art person, you won't catch me at an art museum on a Monday never mind on a Saturday night. But when I had the chance to test this item, I was interested I looked at it as a way to possibly introduce art into my life or even into my living room. Overall I think the product is a good product, and anyone into hanging framed art on the wall in their living space would love this product. It's not perfect but no product is! The biggest downfall with this item is finding a wall to hang it on where there is an existing power outlet. Also, when wall mounting, the power adapter is rather large (standard size of power adapters used for Netgear Routers, etc which makes it challenging to mount the canvass flush on the wall. After much work, I opted to hang mine on a wall with no existing outlet (my choice) and spent many weekends adding an outlet to the wall where the canvass is mounted. Due to the size of the power adapter, the canvass sits at a little bit of an angle but overall I'm happy. I may or may not at a later date look into a way of possibly resolving the angle issue but as of now, it'll remain the way it is. The screen is very nice, I also purchased a subscription to the meural art offerings, figured it'd be a way to expand the available content. I was a little surprised to see that even with membership there were still items available only as a la carte purchase and not included with the annual subscription. The membership fees seem a little pricey but I believe some of it is donated towards art in some way. I don't recall the details. The hand motioning is OK, I'm sure with future updates it will get better. Overall I am happy with the item, although I reviewed the item for free there was still significant cost and time invested with mounting to the wall, as seen in the picture. That was my choice, but between the materials, time, and paying for the art membership the money I paid in all equates to the money I would have paid for the product itself, and with that said I'm still happy with it. I have mine set to horizontal so it'll only display pictures that are taken in landscape and nothing displayed in portrait. Users have the choice of mounting the canvass in portrait orientation or landscape orientation, they also have the option to display both, photos that are in landscape and photos that are in portrait regardless of the orientation of the canvass. And if desired Netgear sells a wall mount that rotates, so a user could easily just rotate their canvass to change the orientation. Even without a rotating mount, it's not hard to move the canvass from one orientation to the other, it's literally just hanging on the wall mount, and nothing locks it to the mount.

After owning one of these for a couple of years and after giving one to my relatives and trying to handhold them through all of the software bugs, quirks, oddities, etc, I can no longer recommend Meural. It's shocking that a large company like Netgear can't hire 2 good developers to make this awesome. Issues... bugs in the scheduler requiring support to delete all schedules, albums versus playlists is confusing (why do both exist?, no google drive/photos integration (you get to download from photos and then upload to Meural), awkward space management, you can do x on the mobile app but can only do y on the website, that sd card slot can't be used by the app/website, can't see changes without refreshing the webpage, etc. I've listened to my wife spend 2 hours this morning talking her mother through the bugs and she has been using her Meural for over a year and still struggles with it. It is utterly baffling to me why Netgear would buy Meural and not provide development resources to make it awesome. I have no big complaints with the hardware, but the user software is an utter disaster of bugs, poor design, and wonky user workarounds. (You can't even submit a review here with an adblocker installed....)
