The product worked the very first time I turn it on and has never worked since. Tried some of the things other reviewers have tried like battery change etc. Just appears to be a bad product. Did not work in any mode. Strongly recommend DO NOT BUY THIS Product.

bought 3 units. tried them all with a nikon sb-800, sb-28x and an sb-28dx. i tried triggering them with the onboard flash of the D700 as well as an SB-800 using various setting in the rpt mode as well as manual at 1/1 changed flash sync speed etc the only way i could get it to trip the slaved flash was if i was less than 12 inches from the unit and then only if it was in the #1 setting for film. it did trip using the 2000 watt dynalite in the studio but i was hoping to use on location with just portable flash units. i'm sure others have had better luck but that's the last Morris Co product i'll buy

I got this digital slave as part of the Morris Camera flash bracket. Out of the box, the slave would only work in film mode. I thought it was the battery. Opened it up. Battery is buried inside. Very delicate wires. Replaced battery. Now the flash triggers everytime I turn it on or off, but not in film or digital mode. It's worthless. Canon SD880 and Vivitar 285HV

I have a handful of these things, and I use them all the time. Most common use is portrait photography with multiple Nikon SB600 and 800's- usually 5 or 6 total flashes. They will NOT work using any of the Nikon CLS modes. These rely on preflashes to communicate with between the camera/flashes, and the poor little Morris doesn't know how to talk that language. However, I am not a big fan of the Nikon CLS for portraits (I get results that are too eratic)- so I do all my portraits with pure manual exposures. (Not the CLS-MANUAL setting, but pure manual). This means I manually dial in the flash power on each unit, and let the Morris units trigger from a single flash on my camera- usually the built-in flash on my D70 is enough to do it. The whole setup works great. They seem cheaply made, but have held up to quite a bit of use. Definitely a much better deal for me than the Nikon SU-4 since they are half the price. Since they don't rotate in as many directions as the SU-4, it can sometimes be a bit of a challenge getting the flash and sensor in the right direction, but it usually works out. They are fast enough to daisy chain.
