While setting a new benchmark for data quality and repeatability, the RedEdge-P Dual Multispectral Sensor Kit is engineered with precision optics and industrial-grade image sensors. It features narrowband, scientific-grade filters and undergoes a stringent factory calibration process, ensuring it delivers high-quality, calibrated, and rugged outputs. This advanced sensor kit is the ultimate solution for capturing high-resolution RGB and multispectral data.
The RedEdge-P boasts increased storage capabilities with its adoption of the CFexpress removable storage standard, allowing for over two captures per second. This feature facilitates quick data turnaround between flights by simply swapping cards. The sensor's synchronized capture capability enables simultaneous acquisition of up to six bands, producing multiple high-resolution outputs, including RGB, crop vigor indices (such as NDVI and NDRE), and high-resolution panchromatic images.
With twice the spatial resolution of its predecessor, the RedEdge, this sensor kit offers a high-resolution panchromatic imager that delivers superior RGB and multispectral outputs, achieving 2cm resolution when flying at 60 meters. This enhanced resolution allows users to detect smaller issues or features earlier, supporting more informed management decisions across various applications.
The RedEdge-P is designed to integrate seamlessly with existing equipment, compatible with a wide range of drones, from large fixed wings to small multirotors. It supports industry-standard tools for flight planning and data processing, ensuring ease of use and flexibility. Its rugged design, with an IP4X rating, provides dust and splash protection, making it a reliable choice in challenging environments.
As the industry standard multispectral sensor, the RedEdge-P offers comprehensive insights into crop health. Its high-resolution imagery supports plant counting algorithms, even at early growth stages, by combining a panchromatic lens with five high-resolution multispectral lenses. The sensor's ability to capture the critical red edge band (712-722 nm) allows for early disease identification, enabling faster intervention to prevent spread.
For phenotyping, the RedEdge-P's band combination facilitates high-resolution multispectral outputs, detecting variability at the leaf level. It also aids in species differentiation, including weeds, by highlighting characteristics such as chlorophyll content, vigor, and leaf size. The sensor's high-resolution outputs enable plant health mapping, generating indices and composites to monitor individual chlorophyll levels over time.
Advanced crop scouting is made possible with the RedEdge-P's high-resolution multispectral and RGB imagery, allowing for accurate, geotagged data collection in a single flight. This capability simplifies the assessment of field conditions and informs appropriate interventions. The sensor also supports fertilizer management by identifying nutrient-deficient areas and monitoring the effects of fertilizer applications throughout the season.
The RedEdge-P's 5.1-megapixel panchromatic band delivers over twice the ground resolution of the industry-standard RedEdge-MX, resulting in 3D point clouds with up to four times the point density. Its calibrated multispectral imagery is enhanced by the CRP 2, a compact version of the Calibrated Reflectance Panel, and the DLS 2, a next-generation light sensor that improves radiometric accuracy and reduces the need for post-processing.
With the same narrow bands at twice the resolution, the RedEdge-P offers a seamless way to capture standard spectral bands with enhanced spatial resolution. Micasense's focus on data accuracy and repeatability ensures that users can rely on the precision and reliability of the data collected with the RedEdge-P Dual Multispectral Sensor Kit.
