Used this for the first time on a recent trip. It was great for organizing my 77mm and 82mm filters safely. It's compact and fit perfectly in my backpack

If my wife ever discovers how many ThinkTank pieces are in my home office, I'm going to be in trouble. In my defense, they are always the right tool for the right job - this is no different. A simple, elegant and durable design, proving again that having photographers involved in design pays dividends.

This is the 5th one that my wife and I have purchased, so we obviously love the product. I have never gotten anything less than an excellent product of any kind from Mindshift/ThinkTank. All excellent, so you are our go-to company. 2 years ago my wife and I, hit black ice during a Montana blizzard and we rolled our jeep Wrangler multiple time down a steep embankment. The hadtop was torn off, our full roll cage was mangled, as were we and a 150 yard debrie field was left in the wake. We were carrying all our photo gear in multiple ThinkTank backpacks and cases, which were strewn all over that debrie field... not a single damage piece of camera gear, nor damaged bag or case... I wish all our belongings and winter camping gear had been so lucky, including us and our dog!

It nests all my 77mm circular filters and a couple of sizing rings. It's well done, attaches to belt and to tripod. It's not bulky and is feather light. A great idea is the removable filter holder insert that can rest in the stone bag during the shoot.

I use the inner insert with the flap folded open in the narrow side slot of the Mindshift Backlight backpack. It holds my 82mm and 77mm filters well with space to tuck a microfiber lens cloth along the folded open flap. This is a great space saver for stowing 8 filters in an organized, easy-to-access way. Unlike other filter cases in the market, the material of the inner insert is thin and perfect for inside the already padded area of the backpack.

Really nice product; my filters seem very well protected in this case, and the padding is nice. I have no worries about my filters getting scratched. I'll take off 1 star because it's big. You can't just fit this case into any random opening in your pack-it's got to have a place. For me, a 5-start unit would be half this size-hold 4 filters with the same type of padding. That kind of case would fit into holes in your pack, on your belt, in a jacket pocket. Pricey? Probably more so than most 4-filter cases, but I'd buy 2 or 3 of them if they were available.

It is SO MUCH easier to transport and access my filters with this case - I just didn't expect to like it so much. I could easily see which filter I needed since the edge with the writing was visible - and I could easily pop in a filter after removing it from a lens without wrestling with a plastic filter case.

Great functional design to easily manage filters and keep them protected. I realized that I need at least one more.

This is a killer case. Super easy to use. Super safe with padding all around. It even works with my filters that have screw handles. Very well thought out design and very well executed.

There are a lot of inferior filtration gig bags out there. THIS IS NOT ONE OF THEM. I recommend.

It is a well designed case. I use it to hold my circular screw-on filters for my walking around lenses. Circular polarizers and an occasional ND up to 67mm, and it's perfect for this. There are lots of ways to attach it to yourself, your belt bag, or your tripod, depending on how you work, and an extra pocket in back to hold sundries. I wonder if it would be better for the inner pouch to be zippered so I could seal the filters from dust when inside the camera bag, but it works as is well enough that I'm here looking for a filter hive for my 100x150mm landscape filters. Basically, I have come to expect a minimum quality from Think Tank that is higher than most bag makers, as their bags are extremely well thought out. This meets it.

I love this streamlined version of the larger Hive. It fits neatly in my Backlight 26L and 36L and provides room for all the filters I currently use. The only thing I do wish is that there was a long compartment that didn't have the elastic divider so that I could store my 100mm grad ND - which yes, I still take and use in the field. I got around it by wrapping it in a lenscloth and putting it in the very back between the insert and the case. It works great so I'm very happy with this system. I have the Filter Nest Mini, too, for when I want to travel light in a smaller shoulder-type bag for different types of photography.

Fits nicely inside my Streetwalker (and even inside my smaller Glass Taxi bag when I’m just shooting with a single mirrorless camera lens and wanting something very small to walk around with). I’m able to fit 5 82mm filters plus 2 step up rings and still have one extra open slot.

Love how it stores all my filters in a secure and padded case that attaches to my tripod. I love the design!

I have 4 of these: 3 for holding various sizes and types of filters for easy access at home in my storage area and one when travelling with specific lens. Makes it very convenient and easy to pick out the filters I need to carry when travelling. They do take up a bit of space but after using many different types, I settled on these a few years ago. They are so good at protecting my round uv, cpl, and nd filters from 46mm-77mm.

Constructed of quality materials and it is well made; however, the spaces for the filters could be a bit larger to make it easier to remove any given filter. When filled with 8 filters it gets a bit tight when trying to extract a filter.

This product is terrific at keeping all my different filters organized and accessible when I need them. It fits nicely inside my Backlight camera pack, and hangs around my tripod for really useful access while I’m working. Well made, well thought-out product!

This is a better design than most. For most filter cases, the filter itself is taken out of its case and placed in a pouch or wrap that has dividers made of fabric or clear plastic, which is fine. But then they don't close up very well leaving open ends or edges for dust to enter into the case. This one had dividers, substantial padding due to the second pouch and a full sealing system to keep out dust - but it is expensive. I wish each manufacturer made a case that could accept their filters in the original plastic holder. e.i. B+W filters fit in B+W case.

Photographers rely on filters to create various lighting effects. They need a protective, well-designed case that provides rapid access for quick filter changes. The Filter Nest is two bags in one. Its padded, zippered pouch protects delicate filters from dust and scratches in the field or just use the "removable insert" for compact packing. The Filter Nest is belt-mountable and compatible with either the r180deg. Panorama or the r180deg. Professional to quickly access filters while setting up a shot. Plus, the grab-handle with SR buckle enables photographers to hang the Filter Nest from a tripod to suit workflow for rapid filter changes when speed counts.
