I am extremely happy with this product. The only minor complaint I have is that the keyboard only illimunates white. Everything else I have been extremely pleased with.

Quite disappointed. My previous laptop was an MSI Stealth, and it was pretty decent. I don't care about Windows, but they are readily supported in Linux. This one has pretty bad thermals, which end up being problematic. On top of that, the screen has clearly a dead pixel, something that I find extremely irritating in a new PC, and a sign of mediocre QC. The port placement, keyboard, etc, is not very well thought. The only thing I liked is that the whole chassis is metallic. It has so many annoyances that I'd return it if I wasn't in desperate need of a laptop with these specs. I'll think again before buying MSI again.

This laptop gives incredible performance and the screen is absolutely stunning. This runs games easily and with solid performance at 4k resolution. The keyboard feels good for a laptop keyboard. (It has the thin keys but they feel solid as you type... like a thicker membrane sits under the keys. It also has a bit of a mechanical keyboard feel, like a tactile response as you press them. They're very nice.) However, the keyboard *layout* is atrocious. The 10-key layout is absurd (the enter key is under the 0 key which is under the 1, 2, 3 keys), you have no home, end, pgup, pgdwn keys aside from the ones on the 10-key. So if you use Excel shortcuts a lot you'll be struggling between hitting numbers or the navigation keys. Other weird keyboard stuff... there's no Ctrl on the right hand side. You ONLY have one on the left. "Well what's on the right side?" Good question. Some BS Microsoft co-pilot key, and TWO keys for \ |. Yup, you have TWO pipe/backslash keys, and only one control key. How stupid is that? Again, this will impact navigation shortcuts in Excel, Word, etc. I downloaded a program so I could remap the keys appropriately. There's one USB-A port. Just one. And you WILL need it for a cooling pad because this beast runs very very hot. I've had three freeze ups in less than a week, two times it was while gaming so I'm pretty sure it's due to the temp. Once I got a cooling (fan) pad the freezes ceased. Regardless the reason, three freeze ups in less than a week is inexcusable. Most of the stars are deducted due solely to this. Power. The power adapter doesn't plug into the back of the laptop as all gaming laptops should. Nope. This plugs into the RIGHT HAND SIDE, fully in the way of mouse use. And the plug is enormous! if it were thin, angled, or something to get it out of the way it wouldn't be a big deal. But instead, you have a gaming laptop that blocks easy mouse use. "But maybe they ran out of room on the back." Nope. There are no ports on the rear. None. Zero. And the screen/lid doesn't even lift in a way that blocks it. The rear is fully open for ports... and there are none. Also, the only USB-A port is there, so I have a giant AC adapter plug and a smaller but still obtrusive plug for the cooling pad in the same damn spot. The left side has USB-C, HDMI, and LAN port. Yup, you have a NIC slot but only one USB-A. And did I mention no ports on the back? Because why would you want out of the way ports? Last complaint... the heat vent is right on the top of the keyboard. Yup... it's right there. I don't know if this contributes to how hot it runs, but still a poor choice. MSi should fire whoever designed this.
