Questions & Answers

Don J : Your specs indicate a 7200 rpm HDD. The MSI website specifies a 5400rpm HDD for this model. Which is it? Thanks.EDWARD A : The MSI website is correct, though the spec indicates a 7200 rpm HDD it is actually a 5400 rpm HDD and I guess to compensate, the cd rom drive plays BLU RAY disc.
loc b : hi i also just bought a laptop from your website for 699 and i used for 5 days already but i dont like it can i exchange it to get this one?ANDREW R : Unfortunately no, per our returns policy: Notebooks, Netbooks, Tablets, iPads and Computers cannot be returned or exchanged once opened or unwrapped. http://www.adorama.com/help/returnPolicy
Lance N : May I know if the power plug is a 3pin?EDWARD A : Yes the power plug is a 3-pin power plug and the laptop is spectacular for its current price, but one has to get it to its maximum potential before realizing its power, by doing a clean install of either windows 7 or windows 8 and then going to the laptop's website to download all the drivers and installing them, until then it sucks with the OEM configuration, and one thing the HDD is not 750GB@7200rpm it is 750@5400rpm. This is a very good laptop.BEN J : it has the 2 slim vertical slits and the 1 cylindrical prong that plug into and fill each slot of a typical United States power outlet that you plug things into, like where you'd plug in the power cord for a TV.TYKE A : Yes it is.TAESEONG K : yes it is

Good Quality for a Fair Price

I would like to say that the MSI GE60 has a very many good points to it, but a few bad ones as well. The laptop does what is was built to do: Play games. I use it to run Steam, and I play a lot of Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim on it. First of all, it runs this game without lag on all "high" graphics settings. The laptop comes with a number of different features in the form of buttons at the top of the keyboard. It has the power button, Turbo button (which is not a button at all, but rather and indicator to tell you when the laptop is using its full capacity). Next to this, there is an overcool button, which makes the Laptop's fan run at maximum speed. The other three buttons are Wi-Fi, display switch, for outside monitors, and eject. The Laptop has very nice high-definition screen quality, and it comes with a program called the S-bar, which is a toggle-able shortcut to many of the laptop's features. The keyboard, made by steelseries, is very nice and sensitive, and, while back-lighting would be nice, it's not a large encumberment, as your fingers develop muscle memory to the keys, and don't need to see them all the time. Now for the few things I think could be improved: The track-pad MSI implemented is supposed to use all the finger shortcuts, but it just doesn't respond well to most of them, and you'll frequently be clicking and swiping things you didn't mean to click and swipe. Nevertheless, It's not a big deal, as anyone who play games will be using a mouse anyway. Also, you can toggle the smart commands on and off. Next, the Hard Drive is just not up to par with Hard Drives nowadays, and, although it still works fine, it's not the speed that recent ones are. This is easily replaceable, but I'm not about to void my 2-year warranty by replacing it. Finally, you must be very careful when transporting this machine. Although it's sturdy, the plastic shell does bring delicacy into effect. When Adorama shipped it to me, it arrived in no less than four boxes, with every space stuffed with bubble wrap. That laptop was not going anywhere. All in all, I'm very pleased with this machine in the first weeks of owning it. I would recommend this laptop for anyone who wants moderate power for a moderate price.
