Great simple grab and go mirrorless bag.

Had this bag for a while (Red - awesome color) and it's great for an EM5 and three lenses. The upper pocket fits a light jacket or snacks. The water bottle holders are handy and the bungees secure a light tripos or trekking poles, or a mono-pod. The inner zippered pocket is good for batteries, etc. This is a light and comfortable bag that doesn't make you look like a total over-geared photo geek with a huge backpack with 10 lenses and two big camera bodies. Great bag - please don't discontinue it like you did with the Perspective line (ANOTHER GREAT BAG). There are a lot of people that shoot small mirrorless or MFT and you should keep us in mind. Thanks....

Wish it had a wait belt

Currently I own and use the following: Backlight 26L; Photocross 10; Digital Holster 50; Sidepath; and few accessories. Typically I hike 4 to 10 times a month; 1 to 4 hours, various terrain carrying Nikon D3 or D750 with one to three lenses. I do nature photography. I've used this Sidepath since November 2018. Pros: light weight, nice straps, nice breathable back padding, side pockets for water bottles, red color is easy to spot when I leave the pack and walk around, rain shield, and zippered inner compartment flap that can be opened creating one storage. This feature is convenient if I'm carrying D3 with 70-200 f4 or 200macro. Cons: not having a waist belt, even a small one like the Photocross, which is great, would have been nice, esp. with a heavy camera. Overall, it's a good bag. I want to reiterate that the red color is very useful when I leave it on the ground and walk around just with my camera in hand. It makes it easy to spot and orients me.

Great little day pack

I donated these to a group of young conservation photographers and they really loved them. Perfect size for beginners with a Rebel kit.

Side path

Nice light weight day bag. It’s great for days out with the family where you have opportunity to carry also non camera related equipment. Great that there is not access of camera when using it, anti theft feature is smartly thought out.

Fits the bill for an ultra-light-weight pack

This is a thoughtfully designed bag, very light-weight overall, but with sufficient protection for equipment in lower compartment. Opening the lower compartment from the back of the bag is easy with the bag on your shoulder. One trade-off for the weight is the rather thin shoulder straps, they are perfectly comfortable, but I expect they will fray sooner than most. I would welcome a slightly larger revision of this bag, with the top compartment tall enough to hold a letter-sized folder or envelope.

Perfect!

This isn’t perfect for anyone, camera or no camera! After reorganizing the camera compartment a bit, it is perfect for my Canon EOS Rebel, plus TWO lenses! On top of that, there is room in the actual backpack space for a jacket, or a full on lunch, andy even a bladder. If you don’t need the camera compartment, it can come out- so you can have one perfect sized day-trip backpack!

Great daypack for parents :)

Great daypack to bring a Canon 7D with a 50mm attached and a compact camera (Canon G7X II) together with items you just have to have with you when going out with a 4 year old child (ie. spare clothes, wet wipes, toys, etc). My only feedback would be if only it is slightly bigger... But that's what we always say until the bag is too heavy to be practical. Better than expected!! Great for Fuji X!

I'm a Fuji shooter and this bag holds plenty. The camera compartment can hold an X-T2 with a 23/1.4, plus 2-3 other lenses roughly the same size (such as the 14, 35/1.4, 60, or 18-55). The 55-200 fits but just barely (counts as two), and not attached to the camera. I usually just put it in the top compartment. The rain cover works better than any other I've used because of the way it attaches. Construction feels solid but light. Most of the time I walk with the camera in my hand, leaving plenty of room for extra lenses in the bag. Some have complained about the top compartment opening too far making it possible for things to fall out. That is a legitimate concern but I like it this way because it makes it easier to load and unload. Just be careful and it won't be a problem. Here's the big surprise: my MeFoto Roadtrip tripod fits completely inside the bag when folded up!! Not on the side. IN THE BAG! It's tight but I wasn't expecting that to be an option at all because it's a 3.5lb tripod! The base of the bag has the padded camera area that is more or less cube shaped and fused to the side that is against your back. But, this padded area is separated from the bag on the far back side, which allows you to slip the tripod all the way down to the bottom of the bag and just barely get the zipper shut. Or, you can shove a small jacket in that spot. The top compartment is very versatile. I'm a 6 ft dude. I find the bag to be very comfortable. It doesn't feel big (smaller than my small laptop backpack that I use for work) and it handles the weight well, although I would not want to go treking with the tripod inside. Negatives: the side pouches are smaller than they appear. You can fit a normal 16-20 oz plastic bottle but 20 oz is tight. The camera compartment is oddly shaped, so even though you can fit all the stuff I mentioned, it still feels like there's some wasted space around the camera body with lens attached. The tablet space is not as big as it looks in the pics. It's accurately described but the pics make it look deeper than it is, so don't think you might fit a small laptop. You won't. Along the same lines, this same space is oddly shaped for a hydration bladder. It's wider than it is deep. I didn't actually use it for that purpose but I tested it with a few different bladders and found the best fit to be a 2 liter bladder only filled about half way but it's still not ideal. Due to the design of the bag, it's not super easy to access your gear, so if you need to put your camera back in the bag after every shot, this may not be a good choice. For that kind of shooting I use a Tenba DNA 8 and I love it too. It's just much smaller. Overall, I'm very happy. I compared it to some lowepro bags and for my purposes I find this one to be better designed and more useful. I think I made the right choice.

minimal mirrorless pack

Its a good lightweight backpack for trips with a mirrorless camera with a couple smaller lenses or the "kit" lenses like the XT-2 and 18-55/55-200. Just enough room in the top part of the pack for a few items you might want to have with you during the day.

Excellent bag! A must have!

This bag fit my 5D mark iii with attached 24-70 2.8L ii perfectly, and the bag makes the camera a breeze to hike with. If you just want to take up to a full frame dslr with you, plus a few other items and a water bottle without lugging a huge bag around this is the perfect choice! Super lightweight and comfy. Comes with rain cover!

Great for travel with mirrorless camera

Just back from a two week trip in Europe and found the pack very useful. It easily fits a Fuji X-T2 with accessories. And I could carry money and ID in the back zippered pouch confident that it was safe. The outside of the pack was just right to carry hat, gloves, water bottle, snacks, and a Gorilla pod. And a Oben travel tripod can fit into a side packet comfortably.

Reviewing SidePath for Olympus EM-1 rig for travel

I have used several MindShift packs and am currently using the Ultralight, but I wanted something less a little handier for travel. I'm in my 70's and very fussy about the amount of weight I can carry these days staggering through airports. The pack arrived today and I was pleasantly surprised. My Olympus EM-1 fitted with a Pro 40-150mm + 1.4x teleconverter fits in the bottom compartment... a bit tight, but useable if you turn the lens collar around to face toward the opening and take the dividers out. Nice. But only room left in there for my EZ walking around little lens, or a couple of trailbars. But that's ok. My main Olympus go-to rig fits nicely. The equivalent of a 420mm lens in that little pocket. In the upper compartment both my wideangle Pro 12-40mm and my 300mm prime lenses fit inside, using foam lens cases. It would be nice to have female velcro inside the upper compartment so foam lens cases can be secured. Not great protection, but it all fits. And the Oly FL-600R flash fits also. You'd just have to be careful and not sling the thing around a lot. Total kit weight is 11.5 pounds... less if I am not carrying the bird lens. If I take out the long lens, the weight is 8.5 pounds. Sweet. Then there's room for lunch and a jacket, with the camera covering the full frame equivalent of 24-420mm. Handy and unobtrusive. Thanks guys.
