This newly designed cutter features three square corners, an upgrade from the previous two-corner design, offering you more flexibility and precision in your work. The 48"x48" frames have been squared off, eliminating the mouse ears for a cleaner, more streamlined look.

The Matthews Cutter is not just a cutting tool, but also a flag - a square or rectangular frame covered with a solid cloth material. This dual functionality allows it to control both natural and artificial light, making it an indispensable tool on any set. It can be used to protect the camera lens from flares, control spill light from other sources, or prevent light from reaching certain areas on the set.

Known as Flags up to sizes 24"x36", larger or more irregular sizes like this 18x48" model are referred to as Cutters. Floppies are Cutters with an extra layer of material sewn to one edge, held in place with Velcro until needed, effectively doubling the original size of the Flag or Cutter.
