It can be used to shield your camera lens from unwanted flares, control spill light from various sources, or prevent light from reaching specific areas on your set. This flag is known as a Flag up to sizes 24"x36". Larger or more irregular sizes are referred to as Cutters, while Floppies are Cutters with an extra layer of material sewn to one edge, held in place with Velcro until needed, effectively doubling the size of the flag or cutter. To specify hinge placement, use the number with a (B) for Bottom Hinge and the number with a (T) for Top Hinge. Great portable size

This product supplied by Mathews is definitely top professional quality gear which I have come to rely on. The material and workmanship is what mskes this product for filmmakers a piece of equipment in shaping, and contouring your specific lighting needs when getting the right lighting for your scenes on set. The various sizes in both flags and scrims makes setting  the right tone for whatever your lighting needs to look like. The flags are made to last so they will hold up time after time if properly taken care of so overall I give this and all Mathews film gear a five out of five stars review.

Great size for a lens shade . I use mine mostly on location for a lens shade. Especially late in the day when you need just a little more than the factory shade.
