Shopper : The "features" section says: "some are vinyl covered and waterproof" Is that by random selection or is there a way to choose that option?TERENCE S : The bags I received were the normal canvas type, which I consider quite appropriate and suitable for most indoor/ studio work. I really like the compact size and high density that the shot provides. I typically bring about 4 of them along on location shoots, and they are virtually always fully utilized. They work well on both C-stands and the less heavy duty portable stands, since they don't hang down as much as conventional sand bags.

Excellent Weight for Studio Stands

I bought this to add stability to an Interfit Reflector and stand for my studio. The 5 lbs size was just perfect for the application. I bought the shot version so that I should not need to worry about leakage over its lifetime. This simply slips over the cross braces of the stands I have in my studio. I can use it for any of the light stands or reflector stands I currently have. I will be buying more of these in the future to stabilize the rest of my stands. The handle makes it quick and easy to move to another stand as you reconfigure your lighting and reflector setup.
