Works great. Do tend to muck with aperture accidentally while focusing. Practice!

This lens is phenomenal on Fujifilm X Mount bodies. The build quality is excellent and the image quality is outstanding. It is very sharp wide open and the bokeh is smooth and not busy/nervous. The focus ring and aperture ring are very well dampened and a pleasure to use.

Came faster than I expected. Seems to be well made. It will take some getting used to but from what I have done so far the results are very much like shooting with a view camera.

I have the Fuji X mount and I'm very happy with it. The lens is a joy to use with the manual focus and the de-clicked aperture makes it ideal for video shooting. The output does have some "character" that distinguishes this lens for the Fuji's. Bokeh at f/0.95 is amazing but the DOF is -as expected- very shallow.

I had my hesitations about this lens but after months of going back and forth on whether I should buy it or not, I caved in and it did not disappoint. This lens is a little too soft wide open but what do you expect at f0.95? Stop down to f/2 and it’s sharp. I would highly recommend this lens if you’re a Fuji shooter.

At the price point is this lens too good to be true? The short answer is no. It is a fantastic little lens. I own a Leica Noctilux 1.0 and this lens is in the ballpark. It doesn't have that super unique look that the Leica has nor does it flare as nicely but it is sharper ( even wide open) ,faster and has a closer minimum focus. All added up it would be really hard to drop the cash again on a Noctilux. I haven't had it long enough to really speak about it's durability but I have used it now on a number of big jobs ( wedding shooter) and it has been rock solid.

This lens is amazing, the bokeh is smooth, the aperture 0.095 is insane! It takes a bit of getting used to the manual focus, but by using your focus peaking setting on the camera you can better determine a sharper focus.

Fun to use on fuji xpr1. at f0.95, monochrome ( nr -1, h-tone +1, s-tone +1, sharp +1). Manual focus manual everything. ISO 200 fast lens. Slow motion compared to an xt3 with a 35mm f2. There is definitely a learning curve, though its easy to handle A bit heavy.. Looks cool on the xpr1. Practice focusing with narrow dof. Mitakon 35mm f0.95 is a new photographic experience .

was a little worried it might be difficult to manually fo us but not on the fujixt3, it’s a beautiful lens with a very unique quality. It’s extremely fun to use this lens. It will take your photography to a new level.

This is not an essential lens for my work, but if I have a relatively stationary subject and I have time to nail focus on this at .095, this has some magical qualities. It's DOF fall off is ethereal and creates a look that makes it worth the hassle. Especially for portraits, this can really make some fun images. It's all metal construction feels good in the hand, but the aperture ring isn't dampened nearly enough and it wanders off the /.095 all the time. I almost have to hold that ring in place while I manual focus, which makes it a pain. I have to constantly check to make sure it's wide open.

Good lens as long as you know what you are getting into. This lens is a bit of a niche/artsy lens. Images are generally a bit soft overall even when perfectly focused. DOF is quite narrow at .95 so focus peaking and magnification is pretty essential. Makes very dreamy pictures, but not something I would hang on my camera and use daily.

This lens is optically fantastic. The contrast, DOF, and light gathering ability is really impressive for a “Chinese made” lens. My issue comes with the quality control. I have tried two copies before giving up entirely. The first copy had an aperture ring that would move off of .95 on its own which made it so I would have to look at it before every shot to make sure it was in the right spot. I then received a replacement with significantly more chromatic aberration and the focus ring would get stuck before fully reaching .35 on the scale, requiring force. I have friends who have great copies of the lens and are very happy with it, but unfortunately for me it hasn’t worked out. If you’re willing to take the gamble it’s a great lens and I highly recommend it for the optical and light gathering ability. For me personally I’ve decided to stick with Fuji and adapted Leica glass for the time being.

Lens is gorgeous, well built and seems like it could be fun. However is NOT a full frame lens. I was a little disappointed in that fact so I returned it. However it might work great for you!

At F0.95 the depth of focus is almost too small, the purple and green fringing is excessive and the sharpness is not that great. Close-up sharpness at any F-Stop is not that great. Everything improves at F1.4, but not completely. At F2.0 and higher I do not see any difference between this lens and any other decent 35mm lens that may cost half the price. So, personally I only see the advantage of this lens for use at F1.4 over most 35mm F1.8 lenses--that's a very limited advantage use range over the average 35mm lens. I own a 32 year old Nikkor 28mm AIS lenses that can definitely out resolve this lens close-up, and very closely match it at all other distances-- Yes, this lens will work better in low-light, but so will an image stabilized 35mm lens. Personally I do not see any image qualities that give it an edge in artist presentation/look.

A fantastic lens for the price. Super sharp. Beautiful creamy smooth bokeh. If you're handy with a manual lens, this is a treat to use. The only downside I've experienced is heavy chromatic aberration in certain lighting conditions.

I have been using the Mitakon 35mm f/0.95 lens for about three weeks, I really like it. So far my experience has been very similar to the results I get when using the Mitakon turbo focal reducer with my 1970’s Nikon Nikkor 50mm F1.4 Ais lens. The depth of field is fantastic and razor thin when shot wide open. The lens does sharpen up a bit across the frame when you stop down yet I imagine most people buy this lens for the amazing depth of field, wide open. I think this lens is best suited for vintage style portraits with beautiful bokeh. In regard to manual focus - I use the standard zoom, manual focus technique with my Fuji but with this lens I find my self using the focus peaking function more. The lens is not hard to focus and I love the feel of the lens. I am also very happy with the size and weight. I bought this lens because I wanted a replacement for using my old Nikon lenses coupled with the Mitakon focal reducer adapted to my Fuji. Bear in mind, I love my Nikon lenses with my Mitakon focal reducer. However, I wanted to get the same experience in a smaller and lighter package. I need to do more testing to see which set up I prefer but so far I am very happy. If you love Bokeh then you should really consider giving this lens a try or if you have some old vintage lenses that you would like to try with your Fuji, I highly recommend the Mitakon focal reducer. They are both great products. Portraits, Yes. Landscapes, No.

This lens exceeded my expectations. If you’re needing a fast 35mm for your FujiX system you won’t be disappointed. This is a high quality performer at a reasonable price.

So far I really like this lens. Using it with an X Pro2, this lens is sharp and fast. Razor thin DOF at F0.95, nice bokeh.

Built like a small tank. Great manual focus lens. Would give 5 stars, but quality control isn’t the best and some lenses focus smoother than others. You may have to go through a couple of them before you find one that has the “right” feel. Produces lovely images. Great for video & photos.

Great lens, very sharp. Great in low light situation I'm using with Canon EOS M50. For best results use focus assistant, focus peaking.

One of the best manual focus lenses for Fuji x system so far! Love how you go all the way down to f/0.95, soft and creamy with outstanding bokeh! And stop down to f2.8 and it becomes one of the sharpest lenses I've used! Of clurse being manual focus it takes a little getting used to.. All metal construction makes this thing a beast.. yes it's super heavy but the pictures that come out of it when dialed in are worth it

This lens is just great for what it is. Manual Focus quick and easy on my XT-20 with focus peaking. Replaced my 35 f2 Fuji. Prior to this I was just dependent on Auto Focus Lock and surprised myself shooting now in manual with just peaking. I remapped all my buttons on the camera to control ISO, Exposure Compensation, WB etc, removing all auto focus functions from buttons giving me quick access to a fully manual shooter. Surprisingly works well on street in good light at f8 and infinity rarely missing any shots. Regarding the clickless aperture ring, it did not bother me at all. Since there is no EXIF data on this lens to camera, I just use the EVF to let me set exposure. I just slide the ring to adjust depth of field like a focus pulling on a video camera. The fact that it was reversed from other lenses did not bother me as well and I easily got used to it after a few minutes. Image quality is great, especially for People shots. At f0.95 people just pop from the backgrounds. Lots of examples on the internet. Bit of flare wide open, but not an issue for me as I just re-frame. Your milage may vary but for the way I shoot ( all manual, people and street and shoot by feel more than numbers ), this is THE lens that will sit on my XT-20 for now. Paired with a B+W 55mm rubber hood and Tiffen Digital Clear Filter for protection. Regarding durability, time will tell. Lens feels solid and balanced on the XT-20. Finish is not the best but not terrible. I travel a lot with my camera in an unprotected back pack and they do get banged up a bit. Adorama was great with the sale. Had problem with my credit card clearing and their customer support went the extra mile to fix problems for me. Response was fast even over weekends. Kudos to their customer support team. For everything else I have my iPhone. The Mitakon / XT-20 combo are for the times I want something the phone cannot give me.
