Matthews Junior Double Riser Column for the Runway Base.

Just received it two days ago and it is solidly built. It is certainly heavier than I expected but they did not scrimp on steel so this is more than acceptable. I placed it on a Kupo Runway Base and put a vintage Mole-Richardson Junior 412 light on it. That light is huge and heavy (37 lbs) but I have no worries at all after putting it on this Matthews Riser. I will tell you that this thing can double as either a weight lifting bar or a protective weapon. I would not want to see the damage inflicted if I whacked an intruder with it. Seriously.

I work in the commercial photography world as a lighting tech and owning two of these has allowed me to rig seamless and cloth backdrops even higher for when my photographers need to shoot up at a subject in a "superhero" style pose. Putting these into crank-o-vator stands and rising them up two or three feet on their extensions before cranking up the crankies allows me to get seamless backdrops up 20 feet! Solid Matthews craftsmanship ensures me even a 12 foot seamless on a speedrail is secure on these.
