This is a fabulous manual focus lens that really works well on the Nikon Z 6 II in my case. Beautifully built like a tank, ?all? metal, very sharp and clear at 0.95, just a fun piece of kit to use. Focus ring is smooth and precise. For the price, this lens is hard to beat. That being said, my only major complaint is the lack of electronics to communicate with the device. A minor complaint is related to the de-clicked aperture ring, it is great for video, but since I shoot primarily images, I would prefer one that is clicked. A switch for click/n0-click would have been a nice compromise.

Overall, I'm pleased with my purchase. It's great for portraiture and indoors shots and not so great as a general purpose walkaround lens due to the flaring and bokeh at longer distances. 3.5 stars Pros: +f/0.95! +Creamy bokeh for things closer than ~5 feet +Solidly built +Long focus throw making it very easy to focus with peaking +Performance from ~f/1.6 onward Neutral/Average: *Colors *Contrast *Dreamy at f/0.95, especially when focusing on objects closer than 3 feet away *Performance at f/0.95 (usable and comparable to competitors) Cons: -The lens has major problems with point light sources at night leading to wild lens flares. -Heavy -Nervous bokeh for things further than ~5 feet -Lens hood attaches loosely

Take your photography to the next level with the Mitakon Zhongyi Speedmaster 50mm f/0.95 III Lens, specifically designed for Nikon Z mirrorless camera mounts. This exceptional manual focus lens is renowned for its ultra-fast f/0.95 maximum aperture, making it an ideal choice for photographers who frequently work in challenging low-light conditions. The 50mm focal length offers a natural perspective, perfect for portraiture and indoor photography, while the wide aperture allows for exquisite control over depth-of-field, enabling you to isolate subjects with stunning selective focus effects.
The third iteration of this lens features a refined optical design, boasting a compact form factor and enhanced flare resistance. Its sophisticated optical system comprises 10 elements in 7 groups, including one High Refractive Index (HRI) element and five Ultra-low Dispersion (UD) elements. This configuration effectively minimizes chromatic aberrations, ensuring superior image quality with sharpness and clarity across the frame.
Constructed with a robust all-metal body, the Mitakon Speedmaster 50mm f/0.95 III is built to withstand the rigors of professional use. The lens's eleven-blade diaphragm contributes to a beautifully smooth and creamy bokeh, enhancing the aesthetic quality of out-of-focus areas. While the lens does not feature electronic communication with the camera, its long focus throw and smooth, precise focus ring make manual focusing a breeze, especially when using focus peaking.
Whether you're capturing dreamy portraits or experimenting with creative bokeh, this lens delivers outstanding performance from f/1.6 onward. While it excels in close-up scenarios, users should be mindful of potential lens flare when shooting point light sources at night. Despite its weight, the lens's solid construction and optical prowess make it a valuable addition to any photographer's kit.
