Amazing product! I have used C Stands over the years, this stand surpassed all of my expectations.

The best c stands in the business. The redesigned spinning leg stand has large t handles and gobo handles, is strong and made by Matthews which is only rivaled by American Grip. The rocky mountain leg design is great. Don't buy the black ones, their powder coating doesn't last through lunch time.

This c-stand is by far my favorite. I like how easy it is to speak out the legs to the working position and then fold them back to storage position.

Don’t put your expensive lighting equipment on some cheap light stand. Spend the extra and get Mathews C Stands. It’s heavy duty and quality built and worth every cent.

I like that it's not as heavy as the chrome allowing for easier transport (ie for PAs) and it gets the job done! You will need to weigh it down with sandbags or a bag of weights but this is definitely one that you'll want to add in your arsenal as it allows more flexibility to light!

This thing is a tank....and I mean that in a good way. Very strong, reliable and adjustable with a handy boom extension arm. The sliding leg let's you level the stand on uneven surfaces (side of a hill, against a staircase, etc.) It looks great too with a very nice finish! A must for any size studio. One recommendation...purchase a "baby pin" or two with this, they are not included with the stand whether from Matthews or any other manufacturer. The pin enables you to connect a light or other accessory to the "grip head" at the end of the boom arm. Adorama stocks multiple types/sizes from several manufacturers to suit your needs.

This is a great c stand. The adjustment knobs are large and easy to lock, the boom is easily adjustable as are the legs. It is heavy but that just means you don't need to add counter weights. It also breaks down for easier storage.

A very useful and well made C-stand. Almost indispensable for lighting and difficult camera positioning

Solid is the word that comes to mind for these C stands. Hardware is ruggedly built. They will take a lot of abuse.Once you adjust the stand (and the arm) and tighten the adjustment t-handles, it stays where you set it. If you cantilever the arm with something heavy, be sure to sandbag the legs. You don't want the stand to tip over. The stand will be fine - its just that whatever you have attached may get dinged. And whatever the stand falls onto may not survive. But the stand will escape unscathed. This may be some of the longest lasting gear I purchased. I will let you know in a couple of decades.

There are some C-stand manufacturers that build an inferior device. We've all been on set with the one crappy stand that the whole crew avoids like the plague. These Matthews stands are not that way, you can do anything with them. You can balance your checkbook and refrigerate your groceries with em, they're just that good.

These are rock-solid C-Stands with colapsible legs. They arent cheap, but they will last you forever. No sandbag required if used with speedlights or led-panels. I do recommend using safety gloves to operate this c-stands, because the silver finish give them a slipery surface when your hands are sweaty.

After almost 30 years as a professional photographer it was time to add (not replace) a few more mathews c-stands to my arsenal. The new stands appear to be just as well made as the mathews stands i hae been using since I started; and those 20+ year old mathews stands still work perfectly. I highly recommend these. Well done Mathews! Money well spent.

There are a lot of different brands that sell c-stands. I have been trying the versatile ones, read reviews and watched videos. Since Adorama had these for a really good price. I decided to give it a shot. Got the first one fast, the second one was on backorder. Well packaged, but we all know it is not one of the apple products. Yoo, this thing is so heavy and bulky, I mean, if you drop it it will easily break your toes or leg. On the first day, I hurt myself. One needs to be very careful, do not let anyone get close you while assembling, otherwise it is dangerous. I had to take it to studio and assemble. The legs may snap you fingers, be careful. I am writing these things, since I did not have any experience with this kind of c-stand. I have attached couple of lights with modifiers. Need to put couple of sand bags, just in case. The stand is very solid. I liked it, but do not like the weight. It is not made of cheap metal that will wear out only because of over tightening and that is the greatest value, the boom is not going to drop on someone's hand or shoulder - it has a really nice feature to lock itself. Also there is a youtube video explaining how to handle and enjoy working with c-stands. Highly recommend watching it, because you will need all that in tight surfaces and rooms. Now I do not have to worry about lights, modifiers and other stuff, they will be secure. Just keep an eye on those who are in your studio, these are not fool proof.

What is there to really say about a C-Stand? Matthews makes a sold steel product, very rugged. Should withstand years of abuse on set. Great products.

This stand could probably withstand a hurricane, lightning bolt, and a drop from the top of the Empire State Building.
