This is my first gimbal head, liking it so far. It is much easier to balance a 600mm lens on this than on anything else.

Mine was just delivered today and I tried it with my Nikon D7500 and Nikon 200-500 lens. It's a no-brainer...buy it before they run out. An amazing bargain for a well-built, perfectly-functioning carbon fiber gimbal. Highest recommendation!

Fit, finish and functionality are good. Only disappointment is that I cannot mount a Really Right Stuff quick release in place of the factory installed. Bought to use primarily with Manfrotto MVMXPRO500US XPRO Aluminum Monopod holding a D500 or D850 and Sigma 120-300 f/2.8 Sport. Works great. Item was delivered very well packaged.

First of all some of the reviews seem to think it has no adjustment for drag, but you can fine tune the amount of drag by simply adjusting the tightness of the lock knob. Just as some of the Manfrotto ball heads. And others seem to think this is only for portrait shots? They seem to forget you can loosen the tripod collar and turn the camera in either landscape or portrait modes? Just as you can with the L bracket gimbals? It?s and extremely capable, smooth and lightweight gimbal. I like the warm carbon fiber material for cold temps. I have an L bracket gimbal for my tripod and use this one on my monopod. I prefer this one.

If you are like me and don't care for the 3 axis gimbal head, and definitely don't want to spend a fortune on a hobby then this is the right head for you, it is rather heavy, but it is beefy, built sturdy and will hold the big lenses. Like in the reviews people mention you can't tighten the pivot points to make for a smoother pan or tilt and they are correct, it is either locked or unlocked, but for the over $100 price difference I can learn to move it myself. This thing is easy to set up, easy to use and well worth the price.

Fantastic gimbal for the money! I really like this gimbal & you certainly can not beat the price! Its light, built well & does not have much play in it like some others that are more expensive even! Bonus! It comes with a nice arca swiss plate too! Highly recommended for the money!

I purchased this gimbal head with the idea of attaching it to a monopod. The monopod is supported by a hip belt. The concept is to take the weight of the camera on the hips instead of putting the full weight on the arms. Fortunately the cage I have on the camera allows me to place a long Arca Swiss plate exactly where I need it on the side of the camera to balance the camera and lens. It works like a charm. Due to the gimbal design the camera sits perfectly balanced without any fear of the camera tilting over backwards or forward when at rest. Due to it being carbon fiber the head hardly adds weight. If this had friction controls I would use this on a tripod. It is a real good deal.

I think for the price this is a great product. I tried it out for a few days and found it worked well. What I did not like is that you could not really adjust the tension. However, if someone wants a gimbal for infrequent use and does not want to pay a lot, this is a good choice. I have decided to buy a higher end carbon fiber gimbal.

I like the flexibility, simplicity and the cost of this gimbal head. This unit is perfect for long lenses that have a tripod collar that can rotate. A rotating collar allows the camera to be in either portrait or landscape orientation. This could have been explained better in the documentation that ships with the product. I would have rated this product higher if there was a way to put some drag on both axis. You are either fully unlocked or locked; there is no in-between.

Surprisingly good for the cost. Vertical and horizontal controls smooth. No play in the base.

Frankly, I had misgivings about ordering this gimbal tripod head, because I thought that the quality would be lacking, or that it wouldn't give me the flexibility that I needed. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. This gimbal head is really well built, i.e. a very solid piece of equipment. I just used it extensively to mount my Tamron 150-600 lens. The mount is stable and it is very flexible. I allows me full range of motion that is also very smooth to track birds in flight. I suppose that other, more expensive gimbals might be "better," but the bottom line is that this gimbal head is perfect for someone like me who won't be using it constantly, but rather, will be using it as an add-on to my other tripod head kit. I'd certainly buy it again, particularly at this price.

At first, I was concerned that this gimbal head does not have an "L-arm" like many others. The L-arm would give one more degree of freedom in mounting the lens. As it turns out, the height of the mounting foot of my Sigma 150-600 C works perfectly with this gimbal. The lens is just about perfectly centered over the azimuth axis--just where it belongs. Because of that, I don't miss the L-arm. In fact, its absence makes this gimbal lighter and easier to use. Since the front element of the Sigma extends when zoomed out, it requires to be re-balanced when zooming. Not really much of an issue as the change in center-of-gravity is only 20mm. Rebalancing takes me about 5 seconds. Fit and finish are quite high for an item that cost me only $70. The bearings are quite smooth with minimal static friction (stiction). One of my Arca style clamps doesn't have as much adjustment slack, so it doesn't completely lock down on the supplied plate, but another one of my Arca clamps locks it down perfectly. Can't fault the plate, since it works on one of my Arca clamps. Instead, I use a shorter plate that I already have that fits all of my clamps. This shorter plate still has sufficient travel to balance the Sigma whether zoomed in or out. The shorter plate lightens the rig (slightly) and I don't have to remove it when I put the Sigma into its case. Overall, I am very satisfied. It exceeded my expectations.

Very happy with this purchase and was happy I could find it on sale. It works very well with my Sigma 150-600 Contemporary lens. I did have to get a longer Arca Swiss plate to allow me to have plenty of plate for balancing when the lens is zoomed out to 600. Since I'll only be using it with this lens, which has a swiveling mounting ring, the "vertical mount" aspect is perfect. It's reasonably compact and lightweight, so perfect for storing in my campervan as I travel.

I ordered this Movo Photo GH600 Gimbal Tripod head on sale. The Gimbal Head works great, the knobs are all smooth and lock tightly. The balance and smoothness is good, though not as good as higher end gimbal heads. It supports a 300mm lens easily. All movement is good and smooth. Would buy again. It is relatively light and travels great.

I haven't had much of a chance to use this yet, but I am impressed. There are frequently situations where I want to point the camera up into trees, to capture the moon, etc. and the tripod just doesn't give me the range that I need. This is the perfect answer. I ordered an "L" bracket to go with it so I can mount my DSLR in landscape mode as well. What a great solution. Really great companion to give a tripod a full range of motion for every photographic situation.

Excellent value and works well with Sigma 150-600 Contemporary Lens

Very happy with this purchase and was happy I could find it on sale. It works very well with my Sigma 150-600 Contemporary lens. It's reasonably compact and lightweight, so perfect for storing in my campervan as I travel.
The Movo GH600 Carbon Fiber Gimbal Head with a vertical mounting system can hold up cameras weighing over 30 lbs, making it perfect for any photography using large telephoto lenses or shooting in portrait orientation. Separate locks control the 360 Degree panning base and swinging arm, allowing a full range of motion ideal for covering sporting events, catching birds in flight, or any other fast-moving subjects.
The "gravity-balanced" gimbal head makes even the bulkiest camera and lens combos seem almost weightless. The Arca-Swiss-compatible quick-release plate (included) is 120 mm long, providing ample support of most telephoto lenses. For extreme telephoto lenses, longer base plates can be easily substituted.
Large, lobed knobs are easy to operate even through gloves or in dark conditions, and numbered scales along the panning base and the vertical arm allow you to easily repeat your setup for various lens and camera combinations. The panning base and vertical arm capable of 360-degree rotation (horizontal and vertical).
